Umesh Yadav Joins Elite List

Umesh Yadav match figures of 10/133 is not only his best bowling performance in Test cricket, but also surpassed the seven-wicket haul against West Indies in 2011, he is now only the third Indian pacer to have picked10 wickets in a match.

Kapil Dev did it twice and Javagal Srinath had previously picked up 10 wickets in a match for India in a Test at home.

This is also the first instance of an Indian bowler picking up a 10-wicket haul in 2018.

First Indian to Get World Championship Seeding

Star wrestler Bajrang Punia has become the first Indian to feature in the top seeds of World Wrestling Championships, which is scheduled to be held in Budapest, Hungary, from October 20 to 28.

Bajrang is seeded third in his weight category of 65 kg class of the Freestyle event.

Asian Para Games

Harvinder Singh won India's first archery gold in the Asian Para Games, in the men's individual recurve event by crushing China's Zhao Lixue in the W2/ST category final.

This took India's gold tally to seven.

Weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga notched up India's maiden gold medal at the Youth Olympics. He is also a world youth silver-medallist.

Manu Bhaker clinched India's first-ever Youth Olympics gold medal in shooting.
