  • Jonny Bairstow partnered Eoin Morgan in a 17-run stand in the match-and series-deciding over. But unlike the World Cup final, when even the super over was tied, this time New Zealand finished nine runs short to give England the win and take the series 3-2.

Spotlight on Prajnesh in Challenger

  •  Nineteen Indians have received direct entries in singles, but the spotlight will be firmly on the country's No.1player Prajnesh Gunneswaran when the $56,000 KPIT ATP Challenger men's tennis event starts on 11 November 2019.
  • Gunneswaran is the top seed by virtue of his world ranking of 94 but it will a test of character and grit for the 29-year-old from Chennai as he looks to go one better than his last year's performance of reaching the final at the MSLTA courts in Mhalunge-Balewadi here.
  • For, if not for the winner's points of 80 that are vital for his chances of making the Australian Open cut, Prajnesh (expected to open his campaign on Wednesday) would have preferred to stay back at home to support his grieving mother, having lost his father to a prolonged battle against cancer.
  •  It has been a challenging season both on and off the court for Prajnesh, with a neck injury robbing him of month-long action during the clay season, thereby jeopardizing his main draw berth in Melbourne.

  • However, the Blues free flowing football under Frank Lampard was met with a brick wall of a Palace defence for the first 45 minutes.
  • Pulisic had scored four goals in his last two Premier League games as the American begins to deliver on his £58mil (RM306mil) price tag and only a fine save from Vicente Guaita denied the United States captain another strike early on.
