Manipur's T.G. English School Wins Junior Boys Title of 63rd Subroto Cup (15)

In football, Manipur's T.G. English School clinched the Junior Boys title of the 63rd Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, defeating Meghalaya's Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School 4-3 via a sudden-death tiebreaker, after both teams were tied 1-1 in regulation time. The final match was played at BR Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. It was the third time in history, first in 44 years that a team from Manipur lifted the coveted trophy.

Cristiano Ronaldo Creates History, Surpasses 1 Billion Followers across All Social Media Platform

Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo made history, becoming the first person to surpass 1 billion followers across all social media platforms.
Ronaldo, who plays professional football for Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia, has 639 million followers on Instagram, about 170.5 million followers on Facebook and 113 million on X. Ronaldo's YouTube channel has reached 50 million subscribers within a week. The football star shared the milestone on X after he breached the historic 1 billion mark across the all social media platforms.
The Portugal football star is far ahead of Argentina football captain and FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and Brazil's Neymar.

International Cricket Returns to J&K

It is after four long decades that Kashmir Valley will be witnessing International Cricket Matches. Indian and International cricketing stars will be playing cricket in the Valley after almost half a century during the final leg of the Legends League Cricket. The series would kick-start on September 20 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Srinagar would be hosting over 100 international cricket stars in October for the Legends League Cricket. Cricketers like Mohammad Kaif, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, Ross Taylor, lan Bell, and others will be live in action in Kashmir for the first time ever. Seven matches, including the final, will be played between October 9 and October 16 at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.

Rohan Bopanna to Make Tennis Premier League Debut

Australian Open champion and decorated doubles player Rohan Bopanna will make his debut in the Tennis Premier League (TPL) this season, which will be held from December 3 to 8, 2024.
Tennis Premier League is an Indian tennis league. It was founded by Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain. The first season of the league was launched in October 2018.
The 44-year-old Indian, the world number six in doubles, had won the men's doubles title in the season-opening Grand Slam at Melbourne in the company of Matthew Ebden.
Bopanna, who represented India in three Olympics, had also clinched the mixed doubles crown in the 2017 French Open along with Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada.
The Bengalurean, who holds the unique record of being the oldest player to reach the No.1 spot earlier this January (2024), has also won more than 25 career titles and is only the fourth Indian tennis player after Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza to reach the top of the tennis rankings.

Tanvi Sharma, Pranauv Ram, Rounak Chouhan to headline Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial badminton

Former U-17 national champion and member of this year's Asian Championships-winning Indian women's team, Tanvi Sharma is among the top contenders in the girls' U-19 category at the 31st Yonex Sunrise Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Prize Money Tournament to be held from September 12-19.
The tournament, which is being organised by Express Shuttle Club Trust under the aegis of Haryana Badminton Association, is one of the junior events on the Badminton Association of India (BAI) domestic calendar and will be played at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Sector 3 Panchkula, Haryana.
