National Conference on Good Governance to be Held in Gandhinagar (Gujarat)

  • With the objective of implementing the Prime Minister's vision of "Maximum Governance – Minimum Government", the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat is organising a two-day National Conference on "Good Governance" from January 30 to 31, 2025 at Gandhinagar.
  • Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat will address the inaugural session. During the session, e-Journal on Administrative Reforms, titled Minimum Government-Maximum Governance in two volumes will be unveiled jointly by Bhupendra Patel and Jitendra Singh.

Cabinet Approves Continuation of National Health Mission for Another Five Years

  • The Union Cabinet reviewed the progress under the National Health Mission (NHM) over the last three years and was informed that with significant progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), India is on track to meet its health targets well ahead of the 2030 deadline.
  • The Union Cabinet approved continuation of the National Health Mission for another five years.
  • Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the Mission has met historic targets in the past 10 years.
  • Goyal pointed out that nearly 12 lakh health-care workers joined the National Health Mission (NHM) between 2021 and 2022 and India fought the COVID-19 pandemic under the Mission.

  • Union Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurated India's first-of-its-kind CSIR Mega Innovation Complex in Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in the nation's innovation landscape. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to bolster start-ups, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and industry stakeholders by providing high-end scientific infrastructure and expertise.
  • The complex spans nine floors and houses 24 fully equipped incubation labs, furnished office spaces, and networking zones. These facilities are tailored to accelerate innovation and support the growth of start-ups and MSMEs.
  • The inauguration of the CSIR Mega Innovation Complex underscores India's commitment to fostering a sustainable and self-reliant future through technological advancement. National Tribal Health Conclave 2025 under DhartiAabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan

  • Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW), organised the National Tribal Health Conclave 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. This landmark event is a pivotal initiative under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, aimed at addressing the critical health and well-being challenges faced by India's tribal communities.
  • The National Tribal Health Conclave 2025 brought together key stakeholders, including officials from the Ministries of Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, AYUSH, Social Justice and Empowerment, senior state government officials, NHM representatives, AIIMS directors, tribal health experts, premier institutions, UN agencies, NGOs, and more. The 27th Prime Minister's Science, Technology & Innovation Advisory Meeting

  • The 27th meeting of Prime Minister's Science, Technology & Innovation Council (PM-STIAC) was convened under the chairmanship of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • Along with the PM-STIAC members, the meeting brought together key government officials industry players, health professionals and academicians to discuss Cell and Gene Therapy in India.
  • PM-STIAC members emphasised the broad potential of Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) in treating various disorders, including cancer. They highlighted the need for a national mission on CGT to drive advancements in the field.
