Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav-2025 at CSIR-IIP, Dehradun

CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun celebrated Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav (RBSM) 2025 on 29^th May to spread awareness about Intellectual Property (IP).
This event is part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative and was first started in July 2023 to promote the importance of protecting new ideas and innovations.

Kashmir's First Cherry Cargo Train from Katra to Mumbai

Kashmir has taken a big step in fruit transport. For the first time, fresh cherries from the valley will be sent by train from Katra (Jammu) to Mumbai.
This new service will help small farmers who could not afford to send their fruits by air earlier.
The Jammu railway division has started a special service by registering a VP indent, which means a full parcel van has been booked.
A total of 24 tonnes of fresh cherries will be transported in a refrigerated van attached to a goods trains.
The journey will take just over 30 hours from Katra to Mumbai.

PM Modi Unveils Rs. 300 Coin Honouring Ahilyabai Holkar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unveiled a special Rs. 300 coin to commemorate the 300^th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the revered 18^th-century ruler of Malwa.
The coin was released during the Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal.
The commemorative coin, issued by the Union Ministry of Culture, bears an embossed image of Ahilyabai Holkar, paying tribute to her enduring legacy.
An official gazette notification regarding the release of the special-edition coin was issued by the Ministry of Finance.

Tata-Airbus to Build India's First Private Helicopter Assembly Line in Karnataka

India's aviation manufacturing capabilities are set to soar higher as Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) and European aerospace giant Airbus join hands to establish the country's first privately-led helicopter Final Assembly Line (FAL).
The strategic move places India on the global aerospace map, boosting its ambition of becoming an indigenous defence and aviation manufacturing hub.
The proposed helicopter manufacturing facility, to be located in Karnataka's Kolar district, will assemble Airbus' H125 helicopters, a globally popular light helicopter model known for its versatility and performance in high-altitude and hot conditions.
This facility will be only the fourth H125 assembly plant worldwide, joining existing Airbus facilities in France, the United States, and Brazil.

Aizawl Becomes 4th Northeast Capital Linked to National Railway Network

In a significant boost to infrastructure development in Northeast India, Mizoram's capital Aizawl has been officially connected to the national railway network through the Bairabi–Sairang New Line.
This development marks a major milestone in India's efforts to enhance regional integration and transportation connectivity in one of the country's most geographically challenging regions.

NITI Aayog Charts Roadmap for Medium Enterprises as Future Growth Engines

In a significant policy move, NITI Aayog has released a report titled "Designing a Policy for Medium Enterprises", presenting a strategic blueprint for harnessing the growth potential of India's medium enterprises.
Though forming just 0.3% of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, these enterprises contribute nearly 40% of MSME exports, revealing immense untapped capacity.
The report proposes tailored policy interventions in finance, technology, skill development, infrastructure, and digital support to empower medium enterprises as drivers of innovation, employment, and export-led growth, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

India Post Launches 'Know Your DIGIPIN' and 'Know Your PIN Code' to Modernise Address Infrastructure

In a landmark initiative aimed at advancing India's geospatial and digital infrastructure, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, launched two innovative web platforms—'Know Your DIGIPIN' and 'Know Your PIN Code'—on May 27, 2025.
These tools, aligned with the National Geospatial Policy 2022, aim to improve location precision, enhance last-mile delivery, and enable efficient public service delivery by modernising India's addressing systems.
These platforms are intended to support Digital India goals, especially by improving address accuracy, logistics efficiency, and emergency response capabilities across rural and urban India.
Developed by the Department of Posts in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad and NRSC-ISRO.
Part of the Department's Address-as-a-Service (AaaS) initiative.

The announcement was made public by Tripura West MP Biplab Kumar Deb on May 24, 2025.
The decision marks another step toward enhancing accessibility and infrastructure development in the Northeast region, aligning with the government's continued push for regional integration.

Gujarat Achieves 100% Rail Electrification: A Step Towards Green Mobility

Gujarat has marked a significant achievement in India's green transportation mission by becoming the 24th State/Union Territory to attain 100% railway electrification.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement during the inauguration of the Dahod Electric Locomotive Factory, a major industrial and eco-conscious initiative.
This milestone is a testament to India's ongoing efforts to modernise its rail network and transition to a sustainable, energy-efficient transportation infrastructure.
The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the Dahod Electric Locomotive Factory, which will produce India's first 9000 HP electric freight locomotives, in partnership with Siemens.
The milestone comes amid India's broader goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions in the railways by 2030.

National Writeshop in Delhi Launches Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0

In a significant step toward promoting data-driven rural development, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has launched Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0 during a two-day National Writeshop held on 26–27 May 2025 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
The initiative aims to empower Gram Panchayats with tools for better planning, monitoring, and governance aligned with Localized Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs).
