India Launches State-of-the-Art National Survey Network
Union Minister of State, Jitendra Singh, launched the state-of-the-art National Survey Network, comprising Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS). This network, operated by the Survey of India, will revolutionise precise location-based services in India.
India now boasts a world-class Precise Location-based service capable of providing centimetre-level positioning services in real-time. The Survey of India has established over 1,000 CORS stations across the country, enabling this high precision. This development ensures that India has its own high-accuracy mapping and positioning data, allowing for tailored solutions to the country's unique needs.

The revered annual convention cum exhibition, co-hosted by EIL & NRL, provided a common forum for refiners and technology service providers for the exposition of recent advances and technological developments in the energy sector and in particular the refining and petrochemicals sectors. The meet was attended by more than 1300 delegates from across the globe.
India Launched 'Operation Ajay'
India launched 'Operation Ajay' to bring back its citizens from Israel, where a war is raging between Israel and Hamas. The first flight of 212 Indians landed in Delhi, where they were welcomed by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. He praised Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar for their efforts to ensure the safety of Indians in Israel. He also interacted with the students who were among the passengers.

NITI Aayog organized State Workshop on Women-Led Development in Goa
The inaugural edition of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) – NITI Aayog State Workshop Series on Enabling Women-led Development through Entrepreneurship has been organized at CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Auditorium, Goa.
The workshop was held in collaboration with the Government of Goa with a focus on the western region of the country.
The primary focus was deliberating on a hub-and-spoke model aimed at extending women-led development to grassroots levels, covering the last mile.
The workshop recorded over 500 participants, including women entrepreneurs, local self-help groups (SHGs) and clusters, government officials, industry representatives, incubators/accelerators, financial institutions, philanthropic foundations, and more.

Mayawati's BSP to Ally with Gondwana Party in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) formed an alliance with the Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The party will contest independently in the upcoming elections in Rajasthan and Telangana.
This alliance is considered to be a part of BSP's strategy for "new social engineering." The party aims to align Dalit and tribal voters in the lead-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The BSP anticipates that if its alliance experiment with the GGP proves successful in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, it would benefit the party in the tribal-inhabited districts of Uttar Pradesh as well.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Declares Dolphin as State Aquatic Animal
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared the Gangetic dolphin as the state aquatic animal.
CM Yogi emphasised the need to maintain the purity of ponds and rivers. These dolphins are found in rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Chambal, Ghaghra, Rapti, and Gerua. The estimated population of Gangetic dolphins in Uttar Pradesh is estimated at around 2000.
India, Tanzania Sign Six MoUs
A total of six MoUs were signed between India and Tanzania in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan in fields such as communications, maritime security, and sports, among others.
A MoU between the IT ministry and Tanzania's Information and Communication Ministry was signed in the field of sharing successful digital solutions implemented at population scale for digital transformation.
A technical agreement between the Indian Navy and Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation was also signed on sharing white shipping information. It was also agreed to hold cultural exchange programmes between the two countries between 2023 and 2027.
Another MoU between the National Sports Council of Tanzania and the Sports Authority of India on cooperation in the field of sports was also inked on the occasion. A pact between Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Tanzania Investment Centre was signed to set up an industrial park in Tanzania.
Another MoU between Cochin Shipyard Ltd and Marine Services Company Ltd was signed for cooperation in maritime industry.
NC-Congress Alliance Sweeps Kargil Election
The National Conference and Congress won the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council- Kargil polls by winning 22 out of 26 seats. The National Conference won 12 seats while the Indian National Congress emerged winner on 10 seats. The BJP and independent candidates emerged winners of two seats each. This was the first election in Kargil after August 5, 2019. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah said that the BJP was dealt a resounding defeat at the hands of the NC-Congress alliance in Kargil.
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Announces 'New Healthcare Vision 2035'
Nearly 10 days after 24 people including 12 infants died within 24 hours between September 30 and October 1 in Nanded's government medical college, allegedly due to short staff and lack of medicines, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde unveiled 'Vision 2035' for the state's public health system under which all districts will get specialty hospitals and the government would speed up recruitment to 19,695 vacant posts in the health department.
A decision was also taken to appoint an IAS officer to begin the working of Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority established in March this year (2023).
Assembly Election 2023: Polling in 5 Poll-bound States to be Held on November 7, 17, 23, 30
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced poll schedule for five key states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram.
The polls will take place between November 7 and November 30, 2023, with results coming out on December 3, 2023, for all five states. The term of legislative assemblies of Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh end in December-January. The EC had recently completed its poll preparedness review for the five states.
Mizoram - November 7, Chhattisgarh - November 7 and 17, Madhya Pradesh - November 17, Rajasthan - November 23 and Telangana - November 30.
Ahead of Mizoram Elections, Former MNF Minister K. Beichhua Joins BJP
Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Mizoram, former minister and Mizo National Front (MNF) legislator K. Beichhua tendered his resignation to the Assembly Speaker and officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Citing his aspiration for development in Mizoram, Beichhua stated that although he had received invitations from both the Congress and the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), he opted to join the BJP after careful consideration.

Rajasthan Govt. Issues Order for Conducting Caste Survey in State
The Rajasthan government issued an order to conduct a caste survey in the state. With this order Rajasthan became the second state to conduct cast survey. According to the order issued by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, the state government will conduct the survey with its own resources. The survey will collect information on the social, economic, and educational status of all citizens of Rajasthan. The survey is expected to provide valuable data on the caste composition of the state's population, as well as the social, economic, and educational disparities between different castes. The data collected from the survey can be used to design and implement policies and programs that benefit all castes and communities in Rajasthan.
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan on 4-day Visit to India
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan began a four-day visit to India with an aim to bolster bilateral relations.
The presidential visit from Tanzania to India is taking place after a span of more than eight years.
Hassan is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Tanzanian president will also participate in a business and investment forum in Delhi on October 10.
Ahead Of Polls, Rajasthan Gets 3 More Districts, Total Count Reaches 53
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the formation of three new districts in poll-bound Rajasthan, taking their total number to 53.
The announcement came before the Model Code of Conduct takes effect in the state. The Model Code comes into force when the dates for assembly elections, due later this year, are formally announced.
The Rajasthan government had earlier notified the formation of 17 new districts following Cabinet approval to take their total number to 50.
The 17 new districts formally came into being in August 2023. Now, with the announcement to create three districts, Malpura, Sujangarh and Kuchaman City, the number of districts in Rajasthan will further rise to 53.
India, Saudi Arabia Sign MoU on Grid Connection and Green Hydrogen
India and Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for grid interconnections, green/clean hydrogen, and the supply chain for the same. The MoU was signed by the Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R. K. Singh, and the Minister of Energy, Government of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud on the sidelines of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week in Riyadh.
This MoU aims to establish a general framework for cooperation between the two countries in the field of electrical interconnection; exchange of electricity during peak times and emergencies; co-development of projects; co-production of green/clean hydrogen and renewable energy; and also establishing secure, reliable and resilient supply chains of materials used in the green/clean hydrogen and renewable energy sector.
Singh, who participated in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week 2023, urged the MENA countries to join the Global Biofuel Alliance to bolster international cooperation in sustainable biofuels and fully harness the potential of the Alliance.
