Om Birla Inaugurates Women Empowerment Meet in Tirupati

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the inauguration of the bioethanol plant in Assam as a matter of great pride for the state.

He highlighted that India is making rapid strides in green energy and renewable power generation.

The Namo Bharat train, operating at a maximum speed of 160 km/h on the 55-km stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), became the fastest train in the country.
Until now, semi-high-speed trains like the Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat held the top spot, both running at 160 km/h on specific routes. However, following a June 2024 directive, their speed was capped at 130 km/h. Namo Bharat, on the other hand, touched 160 km/h on select stretches, giving commuters a taste of true rapid transit.

Acharya Devvrat Gets Additional Charge as Maharashtra Governor

In a significant administrative reshuffle, Acharya Devvrat, the Governor of Gujarat, assigned the additional charge of Maharashtra.
This development follows the election of C. P. Radhakrishnan as Vice-President of India, which led to the gubernatorial post in Maharashtra falling vacant.
The President of India, acting under constitutional provisions, appointed Devvrat to temporarily oversee the duties of Maharashtra's Governor, alongside his existing responsibilities in Gujarat.
This move ensures the continuity of constitutional and executive functions in the state until a new, full-time Governor is formally appointed.

India Participates in 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome

In the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) held in Rome, Italy, in September 2025, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) reaffirmed India's commitment to strengthening global maritime governance and positioning ICG as a key partner in shaping the agenda for safer, cleaner, and more secure seas.
A two-member Indian ICG delegation, led by Director General ICG Paramesh Sivamani delivered a lecture titled 'Guardians Against the Blaze: ICG's Tactical Response to Fire Emergencies', showcasing India's expertise and constructive role in advancing maritime safety and security. ICG also announced its intent to bid for the Presidency of the 5th CGGS, planned to be hosted in India in 2027.

Anupriya Patel inaugurates National Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory Conclave in Delhi

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, inaugurated the National Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory Conclave in New Delhi.
The Minister also released the In-Vitro Diagnostics validation portal and protocols and exuded confidence in the new IVD validation portal. It will facilitate faster, more transparent, and industry-friendly validation processes.

Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Programme Inaugurated by Amit Shah

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar airports through video conferencing.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah said that this facility will not only enhance the convenience of travellers but also provide an opportunity to introduce them to the changes taking place in the country. The next stage of enhancing travellers' convenience, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Speed, Scale, and Scope, started with this programme.

CPRI Inaugurates Advanced Testing Lab in Nashik for Power Sector

In 2025, in a key development for India's electrical and power equipment industry, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI)'s Regional Testing Laboratory (RTL) in Nashik.
The new facility, developed under the Ministry of Power, marks a major step in expanding India's national testing infrastructure, especially for industries in the western region.
The lab aims to provide state-of-the-art testing services for a wide array of power sector equipment such as transformers, energy meters, smart meters, and transformer oil—essential components in modern electricity grids.
