Nandini Dairy will sponsor Scotland for T20 World Cup 2024

  • The management of the Scotland cricket team unveiled its jersey with a logo of Karnataka's home-grown Nandini dairy for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) that runs the Nandini brand is the official sponsor of the Scotland team, and this is the first time the milk brand has gone international.

T20 World Cup to Stream and Broadcast with Sign Language, Audio Description

  • In a first for Indian sports streaming, the ICC Men's T20 cricket World Cup will be streamed with Hindi audio description and Indian Sign Language (ISL) for visually and hearing impaired viewers, Disney+ Hotstar, the streaming service with the rights to stream the tournament this year (2024) announced.

Football Legend Sunil Chhetri Announces Retirement

Tamil Nadu's Shyaamnikhil Becomes India's 85th Chess Grandmaster

  • P. Shyaamnikhil from Tamil Nadu etched his name in the annals of Indian chess history by becoming the country's 85th Grandmaster (GM). Shyaamnikhil chess prodigy, who embarked on his journey at the tender age of eight, finally secured the coveted third and final GM norm at the prestigious 2024 Dubai Police Masters Chess Tournament.
  • Born in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, in 1992, Shyaamnikhil's chess journey began when he relocated to Chennai to pursue his passion. His talent was evident from an early age, as he earned the International Master (IM) title in 2011 and secured his first GM norm at the Mumbai Mayor's Cup the same year. The second GM norm followed at the Indian Championship, setting the stage for his ultimate achievement.

Adarsh, Manu Top Qualifications in Fourth 25m Olympic Selection Trial

  • Manu Bhaker and Adarsh Singh emerged winners in the qualification rounds of the women's 25m pistol and men's 25m rapid-fire pistol respectively in the Olympic Selection Trial. All five shooters in both men's and women's categories will now clash in the final at the M.P. State Shooting Academy ranges. Anish Bhanwala took a healthy four-point lead from the first precision stage into the second rapid-fire stage, only to be pipped by Adarsh on countback, after both posted scores of 583 with the same number of 24-hits in the inner 10-ring. Paddler Manika Batra Reaches Career-high Ranking of World No. 24

  • Ace women's table tennis star Manika Batra rose to a career-best singles ranking of 24 following her success in the Saudi Smash, becoming the first Indian woman player to break into the top-25 in world rankings.
  • Manika Khel Ratna awardee, who was in the 39th spot before the tournament, jumped 15 spots following her run in Jeddah, where she reached the quarter-finals.
  • It was also the first time an Indian woman player advanced that deep in the tournament.
