'Panchayat Se Parliament 2.0': Empowering Women Leaders
The National Commission for Women (NCW), in collaboration with the Lok Sabha Secretariat and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, inaugurated 'Panchayat Se Parliament 2.0' at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. This initiative commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a revered tribal leader and freedom fighter.
The event brought together 502 elected women representatives from Scheduled Tribes across 22 states and Union Territories.
The primary aim is to empower these women by enhancing their understanding of constitutional provisions, parliamentary procedures, and governance, thereby fostering effective leadership.
The program included workshops, sessions, and guided tours of significant government sites such as the new Parliament House, Samvidhan Sadan, Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, and Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla inaugurated the event and led the delegates in reading the Preamble to the Constitution of India.

Generation Beta is the name given to those born in 2025, which will mark the beginning of a new generation that follows Gen Z.

IAS officer Faiz Ahmed Kidwai was appointed the chief of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre.
The 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre is currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
He was appointed as Director General in the DGCA "in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India by keeping the Recruitment Rules of the post in abeyance"The ACC has also approved the appointment of Ashutosh Agnihotri, a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India.

The Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying organised a "North-eastern Region States Meet to review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana" at Hotel Radission, Guwahati, Assam under chairmanship of Union Minister, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAH&D) and Ministry of Panchayati Raj. This event was conducted in hybrid mode.
The Union Minister, Department of Fisheries, MoFAH&D, inaugurated and laid the foundation for key projects amounting to about Rs. 50 crore under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), underscoring the Government's commitment to advancing and targeting the self sustained fisheries sector in the North-eastern Region. Certificates were distributed to fisheries beneficiaries of Northeast Region on this occasion, including NFDP registration certificates, KCC cards, awards for the Best FFPOs and Fisheries Start-ups.

Babu Kambhampati was sworn in as the 27th governor of Odisha during a function at the Raj Bhavan.
Orissa High Court Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh administered the oath of office to Kambhampati in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, state ministers, MLAs, MPs, BJP leaders and other dignitaries.
Kambhampati succeeded Raghubar Das, who resigned from the post.
Kambhampati is the former governor of Mizoram.

Piyush Goyal unveils 'Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2024' Report
States along with the private sector must develop action plans for better logistics business to attract investments. There is a need to develop regional and city-level logistics plans as well for last-mile connectivity. This was stated by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal during the release of the "Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2024" report in New Delhi. He also presided over the felicitation function of the "Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2024".
He emphasised on implementation of measures to promote green logistics, workforce inclusivity and facilitation of Central Government projects. He noted that adoption of newer technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics is vital for achieving greater success in future. The Minister also laid emphasis on skill development to boost the logistics sector.

Ajay Kumar Bhalla Sworn In as Manipur Governor
Ajay Kumar Bhalla, former home secretary of India, was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Manipur in a formal ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan in Imphal.
Bhalla was administered the oath by Justice D Krishnakumar, Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, in the presence of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, members of the state cabinet, MLAs of both ruling and Opposition camps, senior government and police officials, and top brass of central security forces.
Bhalla succeeded Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who held the post since July 31, 2024.
