Modi's Historic Brunei Visit Marks 40 Years of Bilateral Relations Between Two Nations
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic trip to Brunei. He became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Southeast Asia nation for bilateral talks.
This visit marked 40 years of diplomatic relations between India and Brunei.
The Indian Prime Minister received a warm welcome from Brunei's Crown Prince Haji AlMuhtadee Billah. He met with Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The leaders engage in high-level bilateral discussions to enhance relations and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Launches AgriSURE Fund
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the AgriSURE Fund and Krishi Nivesh Portal in New Delhi.
The AgriSURE Fund aims to support those start-ups that works towards the development in agriculture-boosting ideas and plans. Through this, the government wants to bring a boost to the agriculture sector.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we have helped launch many start-ups to help bring about a positive change in the agriculture sector," Chouhan noted in his speech during the inauguration of the fund.
With the introduction of the AgriSURE fund, the government aims to further drive investments in the agriculture sector that will empower farmers and boost the rural economy through accelerating accessible and affordable innovative solutions.
India-Singapore Ties Get a Boost
In a bid to boost bilateral ties, India and Singapore signed MoUs for cooperation in semiconductors, digital technologies, skill development, and healthcare during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit.
This came as PM Modi held a productive meeting with his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong, during which the two leaders agreed to elevate the ties to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.'

Centre Signs Peace Deal with 2 Tripura Rebel Groups
The Centre, the Tripura government and two insurgent groups from the state signed a peace pact in New Delhi. The groups are the National Liberation Front of Tripura and All Tripura Tiger Force.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Tripura government present during the signing of the Memorandum of Settlement.
The government has signed 12 important agreements to bring peace and prosperity in the Northeast region, of which three relate to Tripura.
BJP nominee Rajib Bhattacharjee won the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura by a margin of 37 votes.
Bhattacharjee, the BJP's state unit president, got the support of 47 MLAs, while 10 legislators voted for CPI(M) candidate Sudhan Das.
The Congress, which has three MLAs in the 60-member assembly, abstained from voting in the election to the Rajya Sabha seat.

India Hosts 15th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion
India is hosting the 15th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, 2024 'Safety 2024' from September 2 to 4 with focus on global efforts in areas such as road safety and drowning prevention.
The conference is being hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi; George Institute for Global Health in collaboration with the All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS), National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) and co-sponsored by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
With the theme 'Building a Safer Future for All: Equitable and Sustainable Strategies for Injury and Violence Prevention', Safety 2024 will spotlight global efforts to reduce injury and violence, particularly among vulnerable populations like children and adolescents.
Over three days, the international experts will share cutting-edge research, innovative practices and collaborative strategies to create safer environments and prevent injuries worldwide.

PM Inaugurates National Conference of District Judiciary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the National Conference of District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. On the occasion, Prime Minister unveiled the stamp and coin commemorating 75 years of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India.
The two-day Conference, organised by the Supreme Court of India, hosted five working sessions that deliberated and discussed on the issues related to District Judiciary such as Infrastructure and Human Resources, Inclusive Courtrooms for all, Judicial Security and Judicial Wellness, Case Management and Judicial Training.
The Chief Justice of India and other Judges of the Supreme Court, Union MoS (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice, Attorney General of India, President of Supreme Court Bar Association and Chairman of Bar Council of India also participated in the inaugural programme.
