Neymar Quits PSG to Sign for Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal
Brazil forward Neymar signed for Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the clubs announced, joining Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Neymar scored 118 goals in 173 matches for PSG in six injury-plagued seasons. He won five Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups, but was on the losing side as PSG were beaten by Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record fee of 222 million euros ($242 million), a few weeks before they recruited Kylian Mbappe.
Al Hilal Saudi Club, simply known as Al Hilal, is a professional multi-sports club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their football team competes in the Saudi Professional League. They are the most decorated club in Asia winning 66 official trophies. They also hold the record for the most continental trophies in Asia, as well as a record 18 Professional League titles.
Al Hilal was founded on October 16, 1957, by a group of young men who wanted to create a football club that would represent the city of Riyadh. The club's first president was Mohammed Al-Helwa, and the first captain was Mohammed Al-Amri.

Jannik Sinner Wins First ATP Masters 1000 Title
Jannik Sinner beat Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-1 and clinched the 2023 Canadian Open for his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title.
Sinner, the Italian player seeded seventh, has eight tour victories, also winning in February at Montpellier. He's the second Italian Masters 1000 champion, following Fabio Fognini in the 2019 event in Monte Carlo.

American golfer Lilia Vu won the Women's British Open to claim her second major title of 2023, taking any potential drama out of the final round by shooting 5-under 67 for a six-stroke victory.
The Californian, who also won the Chevron Championship in April 2023, became the first female player to win two majors in the same year since Jin Young Ko in 2019, and the first American woman since Juli Inkster in 1999.

Indian Hockey Team Jumps to No 3 Place in FIH Rankings
India rose to third place in FIH rankings following their Asian Champions Trophy (ACT).
India (2771.35 points) jumped one place to third and went past England (2763.50 points) behind top-ranked Netherlands (3095.90 points) and Belgium (2917.87 points).
This was the second time India rose to No 3 in FIH rankings. India had achieved a similar ranking in 2021 after securing a bronze in the Tokyo Olympics, which was their first medal at the Games in 41 years.
The Harmanpreet Singh-led side defeated Malaysia 4-3 to lift the ACT title. They made an incredible comeback from 1-3 down.

Shakib Al Hasan to Lead Bangladesh in Asia Cup, World Cup
Bangladesh appointed veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as their ODI captain for both the Asia Cup and the 2023 World Cup.
Apart from the two marquee events, Bangladesh will also face New Zealand in a white ball series in late September before travelling to India for the World Cup beginning October 5.
Shakib has taken over from Tamim Iqbal, who was ruled out of the Asia Cup with a back injury.
The 69th Edition of Nehru Trophy Boat Race Held at Punnamada Lake in Kerala
The 69th edition of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race (NTBR) was held on Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
As many as 72 boats, including 19 chundan vallams (snakeboats), participated under nine categories in this year's (2023) race.
The Nehru Trophy Boat Race named after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is conducted on the Punnamda Lake, near Alappuzha, on the second Saturday of August every year.

Pramod Bhagat-Sukant Kadam pair wins gold in Four-Nation Para-badminton meet in England
World No. 1 men's doubles pairing of Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam won a gold medal in SL3-SL4 category at the Four Nations Para-Badminton International in Sheffield, England.
Bhagat also secured a silver in the singles SL3 category as well as a silver in mixed doubles SL3- SU5 category with Manisha Ramdass. Kadam won a bronze in the singles SL4 category.
Bhagat and Kadam defeated the Indian pair of Deep Ranjan Bisoyee and Manoj Sarkar 21-17 21-17 to secure gold in the men's doubles.
