Dabang Delhi Crowned PKL 12 Champions After Beating Puneri Paltan

  • Dabang Delhi crowned champions of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 after their thrilling 31-28 victory over Puneri Paltan in front of a packed home crowd.
  • This was their second PKL title, having previously been crowned champions in Season 8, when current head coach Joginder Narwal was their captain.
  • In doing so, Dabang Delhi became the first home team since U Mumba in Season 2 to lift the trophy. Meanwhile, Fazel Atrachali also became the most successful foreign player in the history of the PKL.
  • Neeraj Narwal and Ajinkya Pawar led the raiding unit with eight and six points respectively. For Puneri Paltan, Aditya Shinde registered a Super 10 and Abinesh Nadarajan scored four tackle points, that went down in vain.
  • As has been the case for most of the season, Aslam Inamdar and Ashu Malik opened the account of their respective teams in the grand finale.

India Women Script History, Shatter Massive Record with Emphatic Women's World Cup Chase against ...

  • India women performed exceptionally well in the second semi-final of the ongoing Women's World Cup 2025. Taking on Australia, the two sides locked horns at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. The clash saw Australia batting first, and the side posted a total of 338 runs in the first innings.
  • Aiming to chase down the target, it was the masterclass of Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues that helped the Women in Blue register a win. Where Harmanpreet Kaur scored 89 runs in 88 deliveries, Jemimah played a knock of a lifetime, scoring 127* runs in 134 deliveries. helping her side win the game by five wickets. 
  • Notably, the run chase ended up shattering several records, as it became the highest ever chase in Women's ODI history. Bettering Australia's 331-run chase against India in Visakhapatnam earlier in the tournament. 
  • Furthermore, the win for India meant that Australia's unbeaten run in the World Cup came to an end as well.

Oman Replaces Pakistan in 2025 Junior Hockey World Cup

  • Oman replaces Pakistan in the FIH Men's Junior World after the latter withdrew from the tournament to be held in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 till December 10, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) confirmed.
  • Oman joins as the next highest placed team in the continental championship (Junior Asia Cup 2024), which was the qualifying tournament for the Junior World Cup.
  • For the first time, the FIH Hockey Junior World Cups 2025, for women and men, will each feature 24 teams, promoting greater accessibility to FIH events, which is a core principle of the FIH Empowerment and Engagement strategy.

Lando Norris Wins Mexico GP

  • Lando Norris claimed a stunning lights-to-flag victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, handing the McLaren star the lead in the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship by a single point. The win marked one of Norris's most commanding performances, crossing the line 30.3 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, with Max Verstappen rounding out the podium.

  • Indian chess grandmasters D. Gukesh and Divya Deshmukh captured individual gold medals at the European Chess Club Cup 2025, in Rhodes, Greece, providing a timely confidence boost ahead of the Chess World Cup in Goa.
  • Playing for SuperChess, Gukesh clinched gold on Board 1, leading his team to tournament victory.
  • This performance came after a turbulent season for the reigning World Champion, who ended 2024 with the title but has since struggled for consistency in elite tournaments.
  • In the women's event, Divya Deshmukh secured gold on Board 2, helping Cercle d'echecs de Monte Carlo take top honours.
  • She is the only Indian woman participating in the upcoming World Cup, and this victory solidifies her form before the major tournament begins.

Sujeet Kalkal Bags Gold for India at the U23 World Wrestling Championships

  • Indian wrestler Sujeet Kalkal won the gold medal in the men's freestyle 65kg title clash at the U23 World Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia with a 10-0 victory over Uzbekistan's Umidjon Jalolov.
  • Before this win, Kalkal had already bagged two U-23 Asian titles (2022, 2025) and a U-20 Asian gold (2022). He had also claimed bronze at the same event last year — now bettering the colour of his medal with a flawless campaign.

Bastar Olympics 2025 Kicks Off

  • Dy CM Vijay Sharma inaugurated the Bastar Olympics 2025 in the remote forest village of Kachchapal in Narayanpur district. Organised by the Chhattisgarh government, the event aims to promote traditional sports, identify sporting talent among tribal youth in the Maoist-affected Bastar region, and connect them to the national mainstream.
  • The Bastar Olympics is being held in three phases — at the block, district, and divisional levels — and has already witnessed massive participation. Over 3.8 lakh participants across Bastar division are taking part this year, including more than 47,000 from Narayanpur district alone.
  • The Bastar Olympics 2025 is being held from October 25 to November 30, featuring competitions in athletics, archery, badminton, football, karate, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, tug-of-war, hockey, and weightlifting.
  • Events includes junior (14-17 years), senior (17+ years), differently-abled athletes, and even surrendered Naxalites, who will directly participate at the divisional level — making it a unique symbol of inclusion, peace, and transformation in Bastar.

Sinner Captures Second Vienna Title

  • World No. 2 Jannik Sinner continued his outstanding run this year, outclassing German star Alexander Zverev and claimed his second Vienna Open title.
  • He defeated Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 and reclaimed the crown he first won in 2023.
