IIT Kharagpur & Singapore's IME Sign MoU to Boost Semiconductor Innovation

This important collaboration was officially announced at the prestigious SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025, a key industry event drawing top experts and innovators from the semiconductor sector.
This collaboration focuses on advanced technologies like post-CMOS, AI hardware, quantum devices, and aims to strengthen India-Singapore ties in the global semiconductor ecosystem.

Microsoft Joins India's Yotta Data Services to Boost AI Innovation in Country

Microsoft and Yotta Data Services, India's leading sovereign cloud infrastructure and platform services provider, on Wednesday (28^th May, 2025) partnered to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in India.
The partnership enables Microsoft and Yotta to engage with IndiaAI Mission participants, government agencies, IITs, startups, enterprises, and software development companies to leapfrog AI innovation.
Microsoft said it would bring its AzureAI services to Shakti Cloud, Yotta's AI cloud platform, to offer cutting-edge AI capabilities to developers, startups, enterprises, and public sector organisations across India.

China's Tianwen-2 Mission Targets Quasi-Satellite Kamo'oalewa

China is set to launch its ambitious Tianwen-2 mission to collect samples from a mysterious near-Earth quasi-satellite asteroid, 469219 Kamo'oalewa.
This mission, if successful, will mark China's entry into an elite group of nations capable of bringing asteroid material back to Earth, a feat previously achieved only by the United States and Japan.
Scientists believe the mission could shed light on the origins of quasi-satellites and even the Moon itself.

India Launches World's Highest Resolution Weather Forecast System �" BFS

In a significant stride toward self-reliance in meteorological science, the Government of India unveiled the Bharat Forecasting System (BFS) on May 26, 2025. Developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, and powered by the high-speed supercomputer Arka, BFS aims to deliver the most accurate and localised weather forecasts in the world with an unprecedented 6 km x 6 km grid resolution.
This launch marks a transformative upgrade from the previous 12-km models and brings India to the forefront of high-resolution weather prediction capabilities.
The Bharat Forecasting System (BFS) was officially launched by Union Earth Sciences Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. It represents a major technological leap for India's meteorological capabilities, improving disaster risk management, agricultural planning, and public safety with precise and ultra-local weather forecasting. Powered by the Arka supercomputer, BFS provides forecasts at a 6 km resolution — the highest in the world.

Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh Launches Its 1st Community Radio Station

The Kumaon sector in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district, has inaugurated its first community radio station, Panchshul Pulse.
This station aims to serve the border communities by blending local culture, weather updates, and village stories.
The station was launched by Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the general officer commanding-in-chief of the central command.
Its tagline, "Hill se Dil Tak," captures the essence of connecting the hearts of the people living in the hills.
