Middle East Energy Exhibition Showcases India's Strong Presence amid Global Tech Innovations

The 49th edition of Middle East Energy exhibition, supported by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, was held at Dubai World Trade Centre with significant international participation, including a notable presence from India. The Indian pavilion, coordinated by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India, featured 45 companies among the 240 Indian exhibitors showcasing the latest advancements in energy technology.
Energy leaders from around the world gathered and discussed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, long-term planning, and advanced battery pack technology on the energy sector at national, regional, and international levels. The three-day event, which ran from April 7 to 9, established itself as the region's leading energy summit, bringing together more than 150 energy leaders and experts exploring innovations and global market dynamics.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Leads India at Third BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting on Agricult...

Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, led a delegation to the third BIMSTEC Agriculture Ministerial Meeting (BAMM) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The meeting focused on enhancing regional cooperation in agricultural development, with discussions on fisheries and livestock cooperation.
The one-day event was graced by the Agriculture Ministers and Senior Agriculture officials of the BIMSTEC countries: India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. According to the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, this meeting provided an opportunity for greater regional cooperation in the field of agricultural development.

AIM Congress 2025

The Annual Investment Meeting Congress (AIM Congress 2025) was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, United Arab Emirates. The premier global platform facilitated crucial dialogues on foreign direct investment and economic cooperation.
The three-day event, transformed Abu Dhabi into an international nexus for investment strategies, sustainable development initiatives, and discussions on economic transformation. High-profile sessions drew strong attendance, particularly the TradeTech Forum co-hosted with the World Economic Forum and specialised investment forums dedicated to India, Japan, and Russia.

Brazil's Proposal for a UN-Backed Global Climate Action Council

Brazil proposed the establishment of a Global Climate Action Council under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to boost global climate efforts. This proposal came ahead of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30), which will take place in Belem, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025. The council aims to simplify climate decision-making processes, accelerate climate action, and improve global coordination in addressing the climate crisis. While Brazil argues that the current climate negotiation mechanisms are too slow and complex, the proposal has garnered mixed reactions from the international community, with both support and caution expressed by various countries.

Kazakhstan Discovers Largest Rare Earth Metals Deposit

Kazakhstan uncovered its largest rare earth deposit to date, located in the Kuirektykol site within the Karaganda region.
The discovery, announced by the Ministry of Industry and Construction, estimates resources of nearly one million tons of rare earth metals, a critical component for green energy technologies and modern electronics.
In addition to Kuirektykol's reserves, the larger Zhana Kazakhstan strata-bound area is projected to hold over 20 million tons of rare earth metals at depths of up to 300 meters.

UN Elects India by Acclamation to ISAR for 2025-27 Term

India secured an uncontested position in the United Nations Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) for the 2025–2027 period.
In its capacity as an ISAR member, India is positioned to significantly influence the development of financial reporting structures that promote transparency, responsibility and uniformity across countries.
Operating under the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), ISAR serves as an essential organisation focused on enhancing worldwide accounting standards and corporate disclosure practices.

Bangladesh Takes Over Chairmanship of BIMSTEC for Next Two Years

Bangladesh officially became the new Chair of BIMSTEC for the next two years. It received the leadership from Thailand, the previous Chair.
Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, accepted the chairmanship. He said that Bangladesh will focus on making BIMSTEC more inclusive (involving everyone) and action-oriented (focused on real results).
Bangladesh now has a big role in leading BIMSTEC and helping the region move forward together. With cooperation and shared goals, the BIMSTEC countries hope to build a stronger and more connected South and Southeast Asia.
