  • HCL Technologies (HCLTech) signed the European Commission's AI Pact, reinforcing its commitment to the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies internally and with clients.
  • The AI Pact, a voluntary framework launched by the European Commission, encourages organisations to take proactive steps towards ethical AI ahead of the full implementation of the EU's AI Act, the first comprehensive legal framework for AI. The pact mandates signatory organisations to take proactive steps to align with the Act's emphasis on safety, transparency and human oversight.

SpaceX Falcon 9 Launches 26 Starlink Satellites to Orbit

  • SpaceX launched a batch of Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base.
  • The mission, dubbed Starlink 15-4, added another 26 Starlink V2 Mini Optimised satellites into low Earth orbit.
  • This launch also represented SpaceX's 18th launch this year from California. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of the Air Force granted the company the ability to launch up to 50 times from pad 4 East annually.

India, Chile Sign Terms of Reference for Economic Agreement

  • India and Chile took a major step forward in strengthening their economic partnership by signing the Terms of Reference (ToR) for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
  • This agreement marks a new chapter in trade relations between the two countries.
  • The ToR was signed by Juan Angulo, Ambassador of Chile to India, and Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, who is also the Chief Negotiator for India-Chile CEPA from the Indian side.

DPIIT Inks Pact with Hafele India to Help Start-ups in Manufacturing Sector

  • The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) inked a pact with furniture sector firm Hafele India to help start-ups in the manufacturing sector.
  • Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Hafele will drive initiatives that support product innovation, local sourcing, and entrepreneurship through targeted investments, mentorship, and integration into global value chains.
  • It will expand its support to start-ups and MSMEs by offering access to infrastructure, supplier development opportunities, technical collaboration, and market access.
  • The DPIIT will facilitate ecosystem access through Start-up India, enabling start-up connections, program participation, and co-branding.
