ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025

ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 is one of the most anticipated international sporting tournaments.
India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the 13^th edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, which is taking place from September 30 to November 2, 2025.
With India and Sri Lanka as joint hosts of the tournament, six more teams are competing for the prestigious trophy, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
The matches of the Women's Cricket World Cup will be held in India's five major stadiums and Sri Lanka's R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Chris Woakes Retires from International Cricket After 14-Year Career

England's reliable seam-bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes announced his retirement from international cricket. The 36-year-old, who made his debut in 2011, closes a career spanning 14 years, during which he represented England across formats with distinction. Known for his swing bowling, lower-order batting, and sportsmanship, Woakes leaves behind a legacy marked by World Cup triumphs, Ashes heroics, and unmatched resilience on the field.
Chris Woakes made his England debut during the 2010–11 Ashes tour of Australia, and from then on became one of the most dependable figures in England's setup.
Over 217 international matches, he picked up 396 wickets and scored 3705 runs, cementing himself as a genuine all-rounder.

World Para Archery Championship: History-maker Sheetal, Toman Kumar Lead India to Two Titles

The 18-year-old Indian Sheetal Devi scripted history by becoming the first woman armless archer to win world championship gold in the compound individual section, and Toman Kumar replicated the title run in the corresponding men's event as India continued their good run at the Para World Archery Championships here on a riveting in September 2025.
India produced two world champions and a total of five medals, Sheetal added a new page to history book, defeating Turkiye's world No.1 Oznur Cure Girdi 146-143 to claim gold.
The Jammu and Kashmir archer, the only competitor without arms in the tournament, shoots using her feet and chin.

The initiative seeks to engage players, fans, and the global cricket community in pledging support for equal opportunities and rights for children, particularly the most vulnerable.
The 'Promise to Children' campaign is designed to champion children's rights across key areas,
- Quality education
- Healthcare and nutrition
- Access to safe water and sanitation
- Protection from violence
- Opportunities to play and grow
The campaign aims to use cricket's global popularity and influence to spotlight these issues and drive public commitments.

Mithun Manhas Elected 37th BCCI President

In a major development for Indian cricket governance, Mithun Manhas, former Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir cricketer, elected unopposed as the 37^th President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The announcement was made during the 94^th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the BCCI held in Mumbai in September 2025.
Manhas succeeds Roger Binny, who stepped down in August 2025, with Rajeev Shukla serving as the interim president until this election. The election marks a continued trend of former cricketers transitioning into top administrative roles in Indian cricket.

Indian Cricket Team Won 9th Asia Cup Title 2025

The 2025 Men's Asia Cup was the 17th edition of the Asia Cup cricket tournament. It took place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 9 to 28 September 2025. The matches were played in the Twenty20 International (T20I) format.
In a match that lived up to the fierce rivalry, India clinched their ninth Asia Cup title with a thrilling five-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium in September 2025.

Ravichandran Ashwin Becomes First Ex-India International to Play in the BBL, Joins 2015-16 Champions

Ravichandran Ashwin, in September 2025, signed with Sydney Thunder for BBL 15, and became the first male Indian player to join a Big Bash League club. The 39-year-old off-spinner, who retired from international cricket last year and more recently from the IPL, will join the Thunder in early January to boost their campaign for consecutive BBL Finals appearances.
The signing represents the Thunder's biggest overseas acquisition since the League began. Ashwin's presence aims to provide leadership on the field while connecting with Western Sydney's multicultural community.

World Para Athletics Championships 2025 Kicks Off in New Delhi with Over 1,200 Athletes

World Para Athletics Championships 2025 is started at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi conclude on October 5, 2025. Over 1,200 athletes participates in the Championship. It is the 12^th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships.
The World Para Athletics Championships competition programme features 186 medal events. Several renowned players, including Athanasios Ghavelas, Ezra Frech, James Turner, Catherine Debrunner, Fleur Jong, and Magdalena Andruszkiewicz, are the star attractions of the event. More than 70 athletes are represented India.
