SERA, Blue Origin Announce India Partner Nation for Human Space Flight Programme
The Space Exploration and Research Agency and Blue Origin announced India as a partner nation in their human spaceflight programme for citizens from countries who have sent a few or no astronauts to space.
SERA, a US-based agency, will offer citizens from across the world six seats on a future mission of New Shepard, Blue Origin's reusable suborbital rocket.
New Shepard will fly the selected astronauts on an 11-minute journey past the Kármán line (100 km), the internationally recognised boundary of space.
Chinese Scientists Discover the Plant that Could Survive On Mars
As per reports, a team of scientists from China discovered a plant that could possibly be able to survive and grow in the harsh climate of Mars. The desert moss, which is found in Antarctica and the Mojave Deserts, might become pivotal to establishing life on the red planet.
Scientifically named Syntrichia caninervis, the plant can handle extreme cold, extreme radiation levels and drought. The team claims that its research, which focuses on the possibility of cultivating plants on the planet's surface as opposed to in greenhouses, is the first to examine the survival of entire plants in such an environment.
The Director General of Railway Protection Force (RPF) Manoj Yadava launched the Sangyaan App, designed by the RPF Tech Team to provide in-depth information on three new Criminal Acts: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023. The app aims to educate and empower RPF personnel with comprehensive information on both new and old criminal laws, emphasizing their relevance to RPF operations. Available for Android and iOS, the app features user-friendly navigation, a searchable database, and offline access, making it a practical tool for staying informed about the latest legal developments in India.

NASA Initiates Process to Dismantle ISS, SpaceX to Design Deorbit Vehicle
NASA selected Elon Musk's SpaceX to design and develop a vehicle capable of deorbiting the International Space Station (ISS) after its operational life ends in 2030.
Selecting a US Deorbit Vehicle for the International Space Station will help NASA and its international partners ensure a safe and responsible transition in low Earth orbit at the end of station operations. This decision also supports NASA's plans for future commercial destinations and allows for the continued use of space near Earth.
While the company will develop the deorbit spacecraft, NASA will take ownership after development and operate it throughout its mission. Along with the space station, it is expected to destructively breakup as part of the re-entry process.
NASA successfully launched the fourth and final satellite in a series of advanced weather satellites for NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). The GOES-U (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite) will benefit the nation by providing continuous coverage of weather and hazardous environmental conditions across much of the Western Hemisphere.
The satellite was launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.

ISRO to Launch First Satellite on SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket in August
In a first, Indian space agency ISRO will launch its latest large satellite on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.
ISRO chairman S. Somanath announced at the India Space Congress-2024 in New Delhi that the GSAT 20 satellite has been cleared. It will be shipped to the US and launched using the Falcon 9 rocket in the middle of August.
India's latest communications satellite, GSAT 20, is a hi-tech heavy-weight satellite weighing 4,700 kg and will have a high throughput capacity of 48 GBPS. The satellite made by ISRO has 32 spot beams and it has been made to cover all of India but with a special emphasis on providing connectivity for North-eastern India.
The satellite will be owned and operated by ISRO's commercial arm New Space India Ltd (NSIL).
