Guptill Surpasses Kohli to Become Leading Run-getter in T20s

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill surpassed Indian star Virat Kohli to become the leading run-getter in T20 Internationals.
Guptill surpassed Kohli during the second T20 match of the three-match series in November 2021.
Guptill has 3248 runs to his name compared to Kohli's 3227. Guptill averages a little over 30 while Kohli is way ahead of him on that front with an average of 52. Rohit Sharma is third in the leading run-getters' standings with more than 3000 runs.

Former S. African Batsman AB de Villiers Retires from All Forms of Cricket

Former South African batter AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
De Villiers last played for South Africa in April 2018 when the Proteas locked horns with Australia at Johannesburg.
De Villiers last game in the limited-overs format for South Africa came in February 2018, against India.
De Villiers played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is for South Africa. The former South African batter featured in 340 T20 games for different teams across the globe.

P. V. Sindhu Reaches Quarter-finals of Indonesia Masters Badminton Tournament

India's P. V. Sindhu reached the women's singles quarter-finals of the 2021 Indonesia Masters badminton tournament, beating Spain's Clara Azurmendi in three sets.
In the quarter-finals, Sindhu will take on Neslihan Yigit of Turkey, who defeated Marina Ulitina of Ukraine.
Japan's top seed Akane Yamaguchi and Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong, the fifth seed here, too advanced to the quarter-finals.

SBI and Jamshedpur Football Club Enter into a Partnership for Promoting Football in the Country

State Bank of India (SBI) entered into a strategic partnership with Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) with an aim to support and promote Indian football. With this partnership, SBI will be one of the principal sponsors of the JFC. The bank signed a landmark agreement with the JFC – making this a first major endeavour by SBI in the game of football.

India Clubbed Alongside Uganda, South Africa and Ireland for U19 World Cup

India were placed in Group B alongside debutants Uganda, South Africa and Ireland for the ICC Under-19 men's cricket World Cup, set to be held in the West Indies across four countries from January 14 February 5, 2022.
A total of 16 teams will travel to the Caribbean to compete in 48 matches.
Defending champions Bangladesh, England, Canada and the United Arab Emirates form Group A while Group C comprises Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea.
Group D sees host West Indies, Australia and Sri Lanka. Scotland complete the tournament line up in Group D after New Zealand withdrew due to the extensive mandatory quarantine restrictions for minors on their return home.
The four host countries have been confirmed as Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis and Trinidad and Tobago with 10 venues hosting matches.

Ganguly Replaces Anil Kumble as ICC Cricket's Committee Chairman

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was appointed as the Chairman of the ICC men's Cricket Committee.
Ganguly replaced fellow Indian Anil Kumble, who stepped down after serving a maximum of three, three-year terms.
Going forward the ICC Women's Committee will be known as the ICC Women's Cricket Committee and will assume all decision making responsibility for women's cricket reporting directly to the CEC.
Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies was appointed to the ICC Women's Cricket Committee.

Pakistan to Host ICC Champions Trophy 2025, US-WI to Co-host T20 World Cup 2024

Major cricket event will return to Pakistan after more than two decades with the country set to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, an ICC flagship tournament.
The ICC board awarded the hosting rights of the 2025 Champions Trophy to Pakistan, while picking United States and West Indies as co-host of the 2024 T20 World Cup. This will be the first ever global event hosted in North America.
India will get to host three ICC events in the next cycle, including the 2026 T20 World Cup and 2031 50-over World Cup, where the country will be co hosts along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh respectively. India will also host the 2029 Champions Trophy singularly.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Seven host cities have been announced for the ICC men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia with the final line-up for the event now confirmed.
The event which is scheduled to take place between 16 October and 13 November 2022 will see a total of 45 matches hosted across Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 Final will be hosted under lights at the MCG on 13 November 2022. The semi-finals will be hosted at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval on 9 and 10 November, respectively.
Men's T20 World Cup 2021 champions Australia and runner-up New Zealand plus Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan and South Africa as the next highest ranked teams will gain direct entry into the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022.
