India clinched a record-extending seventh Under-19 Asia Cup title beating Sri Lanka by nine wickets via DLS method in the rain-hit summit clash.
Opting to bat, Sri Lanka could only manage 106 for 9 in the revised quota of 38 overs.
India then required just 21.3 overs to chase down the target that had been reduced to 102 off 38 overs under the DLS method.

Ross Taylor Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Veteran New Zealand batter Ross Taylor announced that he will retire from international cricket at the end of the ongoing domestic season. Taylor hence will play his final appearance in the second Test against Bangladesh, where will equal Daniel Vettori's record of 112 tests for New Zealand.
The 37-year-old will not feature in the Test series against South Africa, but will be part of the one-day international series in Australia in February and against the Netherlands at home in late March
The fourth and final ODI in the series against the Netherlands in Taylor's home town of Hamilton on April 4 will be his last appearance for New Zealand.

Mandhana among Nominees for ICC Women's T20 Player of the Year Award
India opener Smriti Mandhana was nominated for the ICC Women's T20 Player of the Year 2021 award along with three more cricketers.
Besides Mandhana, England cricketers Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver and Ireland's Gaby Lewis are the other contenders for the honour.
In 2021, Mandhana scored 255 runs in nine T20 matches at an average of 31.87 with two half-centuries.
Quinton de Kock Announces Retirement from Test Cricket
South Africa's star wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock announced his retirement from Test cricket with immediate effect, said the country's apex body, CSA, hours after the team's defeat in the first Test against India.
A former Test captain, De Kock is believed that he will continue playing in the white-ball formats for the Proteas, with a lot of focus on franchise-based T20 leagues.
De Kock has cited his intentions to spend more time with his growing family for the timing and reason for his relatively early retirement from the format.

Nitesh Kumar won doubled gold at the 4th Para-Badminton National Championship, which concluded in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Haryana's Nitesh along with his partner Tarun Dhillon defeated World No. 1 Paralympic Games gold medallist Pramod Bhagat and Manoj Sarkar in straight sets 21-19, 21-11 in the Men's doubles finals to win the gold.
Earlier, Nitesh also won the gold medal in the Men's singles category. World No 1 SL3 Para-Badminton player Parul Parmar from Gujarat also secured gold while Mandeep Kaur from Uttarakhand won Silver and Mansi won bronze.
Mohammed Shami Becomes 5th Indian Fast Bowler to Claim 200 Test Wickets
Mohammed Shami achieved the milestone of 200 Test wickets after removing Kagiso Rabada on Day 3 of the first Test against South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion in 2021. The pacer is third-fastest among Indian pacers to reach the landmark, achieving it in his 55th Test match.
He is the 11th Indian bowler to pick up 200 or more wickets and only the fifth fast bowler to reach the milestone. Shami is only behind Kapil Dev (434), Ishant Sharma (311), Zaheer Khan (311), and Javagal Srinath (236), at the moment.

Ashwin among Four Nominees for ICC Test Cricketer of the Year Award
Seasoned India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was shortlisted as one of the four nominees for the ICC Test Cricketer of the year award.
Besides Ashwin, England skipper Joe Root, New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson and Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne were the others to be nominated for the prestigious award, which recognise the outstanding achievements and feats in cricket over the past year.
The winner of the award will be announced on January 24.
