Pakistan A Clinches the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 title

Pakistan A defeated Bangladesh A in a dramatic finale that went into the Super Over and clinched the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 title. Chasing Pakistan's total of 125 runs, Bangladesh slumped to 53 for 7 at one stage. Even at the end of the 18th over, with just 12 balls to go, they were 99 for 9. But the 19th over from Shahid Aziz saw the last Bangladesh batting pair hit three sixes before the No. 10 and No. 11 batters for Bangladesh took the game into a Super Over.

One of the most iconic athletes in tennis history, Roger Federer, was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Class of 2026. With a career that redefined elegance, dominance, and longevity in tennis, Federer's induction stands as a testament to his unparalleled achievements — including 20 Grand Slam singles titles, 103 tour-level victories, and a record 310 weeks as world No. 1. The announcement was made on November 19, 2025, with Federer set to be formally inducted at a ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island, from August 27–29, 2026.

Curacao Makes Soccer History as Smallest Nation by Population to Qualify for a World Cup

The tiny Caribbean island country Curacao will go to the 2026 World Cup as the smallest nation by population ever to qualify for the marquee event in men's soccer.
Curacao, an autonomous territory of about 156,000 people within the Netherlands kingdom, took the record of Iceland, with a population of just over 350,000, which was the previous smallest country to reach the World Cup when it qualified for Russia 2018.

Zimbabwe and Namibia Will Jointly Host the 2026 U-19 Cricket World Cup

The 16^th edition of the Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup will be played across five venues in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6, 2026.
As per the format, the 16 cricket teams have been divided into four groups of four. Following the round-robin group stage, the top three teams from each group will progress to the Super Six phase, where they will be split into two groups of six each.
The groups:
Group A: India, Bangladesh, USA, New Zealand
Group B: Zimbabwe, Pakistan, England, Scotland
Group C: Australia, Ireland, Japan, Sri Lanka
Group D: Tanzania, West Indies, Afghanistan, South Africa

World Boxing Cup Finals: India Wins Medals in all 20 Categories

Indian women boxers, led by star pugilist Nikhat Zareen, lived up to their top billings to claim seven gold medals, while Hitesh Gulia and Sachin Siwach also clinched the coveted yellow metal at the World Boxing Cup Finals in Greater Noida. The hosts finished with at least a medal in all 20 weight categories, signing off with nine gold, six silver and five bronze medals. On a day when 15 Indians took the ring, reigning world champions Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) and Minakshi Hooda (48kg), Asian Games bronze medallist Preeti Pawar (54kg), world bronze medallist Parveen Hooda (60kg), former youth world champion Arundhati Choudhary (70kg) and Nupur Sheoran ( 80kg) also struck gold.
This is the first time that India has won in all weight categories in a global championship of the sport. The women's team finished with seven gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, while the men's team finished with two gold, five silver, and three bronze medals.
The World Boxing Cup Finals is a tournament incorporated for the first time in the calendar of the new international body of the sport that allows eight boxers to compete in every category, starting from the quarter-finals.

FIDE Announces the List of Players for the 2025 World Rapid and Blitz

World Champion Gukesh D. and Magnus Carlsen join over 360 players who have confirmed their participation in the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship in Doha.
The event, which will take place from December 25 to 30, brings together a field featuring multiple world champions, most of the sport's highest-rated competitors, and rising stars.
Many seasoned elite players such as 2024 World Blitz co-champion Ian Nepomniachtchi, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, Wesley So, and Levon Aronian have also confirmed their participation. Challenging them will be a new generation of contenders seeking to disrupt established hierarchies: Vincent Keymer, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Praggnanandhaa R, Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus, and Ediz Gürel to name just a few.

India Clinches the 2025 WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championship

India secured a landmark triumph at the WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championships 2025 in Portimão, Portugal, with three athletes from Auroville contributing significantly to the nation's hard-fought 11–10 win over Germany. Their participation highlights the growing prominence of Auroville's sports ecosystem in nurturing talent for international competitions.
The global championship saw widespread participation, with 38 countries, 136 teams and thousands of athletes competing across 10 divisions. India's performance underscored its rising position at the WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championships 2025 (internationally recognised as the World Flying Disc Federation – World Cup 2025).

Marco Bezzecchi Clinches MotoGP 2025 Finale in Valencia

The 2025 MotoGP season concluded on a dramatic high note as Marco Bezzecchi clinched a historic victory at the Valencia Grand Prix, becoming the first Aprilia rider to win back-to-back races. This victory, coming just a week after his Portugal triumph, also helped Bezzecchi secure third place overall in the world championship standings, a career-best finish for both rider and team.
