The Food and Nutrition Board (FNB), set up in 1964, a technical branch of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) responsible for providing logistical support to community nutrition programs, was officially dissolved as part of the government's plan to rationalize various bodies.
In a gazette notification issued, the WCD Ministry announced the dissolution of the FNB, which operated a wide network of offices, including four regional offices and several quality control laboratories across major cities like Faridabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
Centre Effects Secretary-level Reshuffle, Pradip Kumar Tripathi Named Lokpal Secretary
Senior bureaucrat Pradip Kumar Tripathi was appointed as the Lokpal Secretary as part of a secretary-level reshuffle effected by the Centre.
Tripathi is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service officer (IAS).
He was appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal till the date of his superannuation (June 30) and thereafter on contract basis for a period of two years beyond the date of his superannuation on usual terms and conditions applicable to re-employed central government officers, said an order issued by the Personnel Ministry.
Border Management Secretary Raj Kumar Goyal was appointed as Secretary, Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law & Justice.

DD Kisan launched AI Anchors Krish and Bhoomi
Doordarshan Kisan (DD KISAN) has become the first government TV channel of the country to launch two AI anchors – AI Krish and AI Bhoomi.
The AI anchors can speak in fifty languages and read news 24 hours and 365 days without getting tired.
The viewers will be able to see these anchors in all the states of the country.
These AI anchors will provide necessary information about agricultural research in the country and global level, trends in Krishi Mandis, changes in the weather and information about government schemes.

Antarctic Parliament Meets in Kochi
India is hosting the 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM 46), also known as the Antarctic Parliament, from May 20-30 in Kochi. The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa, through the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), has organised the meeting.
The ACTM aims to foster international collaboration on scientific research and sustainable resource management in the icy continent, along with discussing the principles and objectives of the Antarctic Treaty, which went into effect in 1961. The Treaty currently has 56 parties, including India.
Vice President Dhankhar Attends Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's Funeral in Tehran
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar travelled to Tehran and attended the funeral of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, his foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other officials who were killed in a helicopter crash.
President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed their condolences to the government and people of Iran.
Raisi's body was buried in his birthplace, Mashhad, Vice-President of the Republic, Mohsen Mansouri, announced.

BARC Appoints Dr. Bikramjit Chaudhuri as Chief of Measurement Science
The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India appointed Dr. Bikramjit Chaudhuri as Chief of Measurement Science and Analytics. He succeeded Dr. Derrick Grey, who left the organisation after a six-year stint.
Dr. Chaudhuri holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and a Master of Statistics degree from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi. He brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in diverse fields such as Statistics, Stochastic Modelling, Market Measurement, Consumer Segmentation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML), Demand Forecasting, and Big Data Analytics. He has several research papers, publications, and patents to his credit in these areas.
3,300 CISF Contingent Takes Full Charge of Parliament Security; CRPF Exits
More than 3,300 CISF personnel took over the complete counterterrorism and anti-sabotage security duties at the Parliament complex following the withdrawal of over 1,400 CRPF staff from the country's most important symbol of democracy.
The parliament duty group (PDG) of the CRPF wound up its entire administrative and operational paraphernalia — vehicles, weapons and commandos — from of the complex and its commander, a deputy inspector general (DIG)-rank officer, handed over all the security points in the complex to the incoming CISF group.
