CSA Appoints Shukri Conrad as South Africa New Head Coach

Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced Shukri Conrad as the head coach of the national team across all formats.
Conrad replaced former Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter, following the latter's resignation from the white-ball head coach role last month.

FIFA Announces Host Cities for 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil

FIFA officially announced the eight cities in Brazil that will host matches during the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The tournament, set to take place from June 24 to July 25, 2027, will feature 32 teams competing across stadiums that previously hosted the 2014 Men's World Cup, ensuring world-class infrastructure and fan experience.
List of selected cities and stadiums: Belo Horizonte/Estadio Mineirao, Brasilia/Estadio Nacional, Fortaleza/Arena Castelao, Porto Alegre/Estadio Beira-Rio, Recife/Arena de Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro/Estadio do Maracana, Salvador/Arena Fonte Nova and Sao Paulo/Arena Itaquera.

Archery World Cup 2025: India Bags Seven Medals

India finished their campaign at the Archery World Cup 2025, which was held in Shanghai with a total of seven medals, including bronze medals for Olympian Deepika Kumari and Parth Salunkhe in the individual recurve events.
Deepika clinched her 37th World Cup medal with a 7-3 win over South Korea's Kang Chae-young in the bronze medal match.

Mohammed Afsal Breaks 800m National Record at UAE Athletics Grand Prix

Indian athlete Mohammed Afsal broke the men's 800 m national record at the UAE Athletics Grand Prix 2025 in Dubai.
While competing at Dubai Police Club Stadium, Afsal with a time of 1 minute and 45.61 seconds (1:45.61), secured the second spot in a 10-man field.
The top spot was secured by Kenya's Nicholas Kiplagat (1:45.38) while South Africa's Christopher Swart finished third with 1:45.84.
Afsal's time was 0.04 seconds faster than the previous national record holder, Jinson Johnson, who clocked the timings of 1:45.65 during the 2018 National Inter-State Championships in Guwahati.

Pakistan Moves T20 League

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) elected to relocate the remainder of this year's (2025) Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the United Arab Emirates, amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The PCB announced that all remaining fixtures of PSL X, the tenth edition of the Board's flagship T20 tournament, were moved to the UAE, with the exact schedule of matches, including dates and venues, to be shared in due course.

Korean Compound Men's Team Breaks World Record in Shanghai

South Korean compound team broke the compound men's team match world record at Shanghai 2025, during the second stage of the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup.
In their first-round matchup against Macao China, Kim Jongho, Choi Eun Gyu and Choi Yonghee hit the 10-ring with 100 percent accuracy – 24 10s out of 24 arrows – becoming the first team in history to complete a perfect match.
The record was previously held by the USA's Jesse Broadwater, Braden Gellenthien and compound legend Reo Dee Wilde, who shot just one shy at 239 during the Turin 2011 World Archery Championships.

Rohit Sharma Announces Retirement from Test Cricket

Rohit Sharma, one of India's most accomplished batters and the current red-ball captain, has officially announced his retirement from Test cricket. This decision, made just ahead of the highly anticipated India vs England Test series, marks the end of a roller-coaster journey in the longest format of the game. Rohit, who made his Test debut in 2013, leaves behind a legacy marked by resilience, reinvention, and leadership.
He took over Test captaincy in 2022 after Virat Kohli stepped down.
Led India through series wins but also suffered major defeats, notably against New Zealand and Australia.
His leadership was praised for stability, though questioned during away performances.
