Rising Sea Level Threat to Bengal Tigers
According to an organization, rising sea levels caused by climate change threaten to wipe out Sundarbans, a large mangrove forest area shared by India and Bangladesh, and thus world's beautiful Bengal tigers.
Without mitigation efforts, projected sea level rise nearly a foot by 2070 could destroy nearly the entire Sundarbans tiger habitat.
The world's largest tiger population is found in the Sundarbans.

New Plant Species Discovered
A huge carnivorous plant has become the first plant species to be "discovered on Facebook" after a photo posted by an amateur researcher in Brazil was spotted by scientists on the social networking site.
The plant, which can grow up to one and a half metres in length, was identified by scientists as a new species, and has since been named 'drosera magnifica', or magnificent sundew.
Experts identified the plant as a new species, describing it as the second-largest carnivorous plant in the Americas.
The plant has a Medusa-like tangle of sticky, carnivorous leaves that can grow up to 24cm in length and ensnare insects the size of a dragonfly.
The scientists were surprised that the large and eye-catching plant species had remained undiscovered for so long.

Tree of 40 Fruits
Van Aken has spent nine years working on his Tree of 40 Fruits, and now 14 such trees exist.
He didn't create them through genetic engineering though. Instead, he's used a technique that's thousands of years old ‘grafting’.
Grafting involves collecting young shoots or cuttings from trees and then inserting these budding branches into strategic points on a base tree.
According to Van Aken, grafting is often successful because of the similar chromosomal structure of stone fruit trees.
