According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Ma Huateng, founder and CEO of Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings, has dethroned Alibaba Founder Jack Ma form the title of the richest man in China'. Huatang has a total net worth of $50 billion.
Tencent Holdings is currently China's largest game developer. It has surpassed Alibaba Group Holding Ltd as Asia's most-valuable company.
Ma Huateng founded Tencent in 1998 along with four of his classmates. He has a Bachelors of Science degree from Shinzen University in China. He currently owns 7 per cent stake in Tencent. He had sold some shares earlier this year, raising his net worth by $757 million, according to Bloomberg.
Tencent is one of the world's largest video game company. It also has a major presence in programming social media platform and has become one of China's largest social media companies. One of the social media platforms run by Tencent is WeChat (China's version of Whatsapp). In the gaming space, it provides some of the most popular titles including Honour of Kings, PUBG Mobile and League of Legends.
After China Encroaches Nepal's Territory, Opposition Party Moves Motion in Parliament
Nepal's opposition party Nepali Congress moved a motion in the Lower House of Nepali Parliament on the Nepalese land encroached by China. Nepali Congress lawmakers put the motion in place drawing the K. P. Sharma Oli led government.
According to the motion, "64 hectares have been encroached upon in Dolakha, Humla, Sindhupalchowk, Sankhuwasabha, Gorkha and Rasuwa districts" of Nepal by China.
Pillar 35 has been shifted at the border, which has led to Northern Gorkha's Rui Village falling into China's Tibet region. 72 households of Rui village of Gorkha and 18 houses of Darchula are in Chinese territory.
Nepali Congress is the largest opposition party in both the Upper House and Lower House of the Nepali Parliament. Earlier this month, Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi had demanded answers from the K. P. Sharma Oli government over the Chinese encroachment.
China currently has encroached 11 locations at China Nepal border.
According to annual data from Switzerland's central bank, funds parked by Indian individuals and enterprises in Swiss banks, including through India-based branches, fell nearly 6 per cent in 2019 to 899 million Swiss francs (Rs. 6,625 crore).
This marks the second consecutive year of decline in aggregate funds of Indian clients with all Swiss banks, taking the figure to the third lowest level in more than three decades since 1987 when the Swiss National Bank (SNB) began compiling the data.
The total amount of CHF 899.46 million, described by SNB as aggregate 'liabilities' of Swiss banks or 'amounts due to' their Indian clients at the end of 2019, included CHF 550 million (over Rs 4,000 crore) of customer deposits; CHF 88 million (Rs. 650 crore) held via other banks; 7.4 million (Rs. 50 crore) through fiduciaries or trusts; and CHF 254 million (Rs. 1,900 crore) as 'other amounts due to customers' in form of securities and various financial instruments.
RSWM Ties Up with HeiQ
Textile manufacturer RSWM Ltd. of the LNJ Bhilwara Group has unveiled anti-viral fabric 'ViroSecure' via a technology partnership with Swiss firm HeiQ. ViroSecure fabric range offers anti-COVID protection against the spread and transmission of the pathogen.
Tests conducted by HeiQ in association with the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity in Melbourne, Australia (Doherty Institute) highlighted that treated fabric demonstrated a rapid antiviral action against the SARS-CoV-2 virus strain.
Hindustan Unilever to Drop "Fair" from its "Fair & Lovely" Range of Products
The Indian unit of Unilever it will drop the word "fair" from its "Fair & Lovely" range of products, which have long been criticised for promoting negative stereotypes against people with darker skin.
The move comes as cosmetics companies have seen an increasing amount of backlash on social media in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Products marketed as skin lightening have a huge market in South Asia due to a societal obsession with fairer skin tones, but those notions are being questioned more frequently.
Unilever's 'Fair & Lovely' brand dominates the market in South Asia. Similar products are also sold by L'Oréal and Procter & Gamble.
The 'Fair & Lovely' brand name change is subject to regulatory approvals, Hindustan Unilever said. The company did not say what the new brand name would be.
Health Ministry and Indian Red Cross Jointly Launch 'eBloodServices' App
In order to save the needy from anemia in the midst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has launched 'eBloodServices' mobile app developed by the ERaktkosh team of C-DAC (Development of Advanced Computing) India for easy access to blood needed for transfusion.
The mobile app is an initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) with the aim of 'Safe blood saves lives' will be available in entire Delhi-NCR initially.
They can demand up to 4 units of blood & the blood banks of the Indian Red Cross Society will wait for them for 12 hours. The order will be diverted to the next patient only after the original recipient fails to collect it within 12 hours.
Red Cross blood bank had launched blood donation camps by sending mobile blood collection units to various localities in and around Delhi NCR.
It has also provided pick and drop facility to voluntary blood donors.
Clare Connor to Become First Female President of MCC in 233-year History
Former England captain Clare Connor is set to become the first female president of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), guardian of the laws of the game, in its 233-year history.
Connor was named as the successor to current chief Kumar Sangakkara, who steps down from the post next year (2021).
The nomination of Connor, who is currently the ECB's managing director of women's cricket, was made by Sangakkara himself during the Annual General Meeting.
Connor will take up the post on October 1 next year (2021), pending approval by the club's members, as Sangakkara has been invited to remain in the role for a second twelve-month tenure due to the impact of Covid-19 on the cricketing landscape.

Australia and New Zealand will host the 2023 women's World Cup after the countries' joint bid was chosen by FIFA. Kempegowda International Airport Becomes the 1st Airport in India to Get AWMS at Both Ends of the Runway
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/ BLR Airport) became the 1st airport in India to get an indigenously-developed Aviation Weather Monitoring System (AWMS) at both ends of the runway. AWMS is installed by Bangalore International Airport (BIAL). The technology is developed by Bengaluru-based CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL).
The AWMS sensor has been installed on a 10 meters mast which is a 1st of its kind, designed by NAL.
It has many unique features including eco-friendly, light weight & has a life span of over 60 years. The sliding mechanism enables easy maintenance.
Maharashtra Appoints Current Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar as Chief Secretary
Maharashtra government has appointed the current Additional Chief Secretary, Sanjay Kumar as its Chief Secretary. He succeeded Ajoy Mehta. Ajoy Mehta has been named as the Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister (CM) Uddhav Thackeray and will take this position on July 1.
Sanjay Kumar will hold the post of the Additional Chief Secretary in the housing department till his term ends on February 28, 2021. He also holds the additional charge of the home department.
Sanjay Kumar is the 1983 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
Ajoy Mehta is a 1984-batch IAS officer. He assumed the office as the chief secretary on May 10, 2019 & was supposed to retire on September 30, 2019, but received a couple of term extensions.
Russian Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29M/M2, MiG-35 Fighters to Get Automated Intelligent g-limit Controls
Russian Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35 fighter aircraft will be soon fitted with a new automated intelligent g-limit control system to help the pilots during extremely high g-limits during combat operations. According to the MiG Corporation, engineers involved in the development and production of MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35 fighters have been granted a patent for the intelligent system which will help pilots during high g-levels up to 9.
Once the intelligent g-limits limit control is fitted in the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35 jets, their pilots will be able to push their highly manoeuvrable fighters to its limits without compromising on safety and be able to carry out aerial combat without worrying about the instrument panel.

Priyanka Chopra and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap named among the 50 ambassadors for the 45th edition of Toronto International Film Festival(TIFF) 2020, which is to be held virtually. The festival will take place from September 10-19 with physical screenings and drive-ins, digital screenings, virtual red carpets, press conferences and industry talks.
This is the first time TIFF will launch a digital platform for the festival, offering new opportunities to connect with audiences beyond Toronto.
TIFF has partnered with Shift72 to develop the online platform.

International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as 'World Drug Day', is celebrated annually on 26th June since 1989. The theme of World Drug Day 2020 is "Better Knowledge for Better Care."
The date June 26 is to commemorate Lin Zexu's dismantling of the opium trade in Humen, Guangdong, ending in June 25 1839,just before the First Opium War in China. The observance was instituted by General Assembly Resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987.
The day is used to highlight the dangers of drug abuse and bring awareness to people on how to deal with it. The UNODC has over the years been participating actively by launching campaigns to gain support for drug control. It also often teams up with other organisations to encourage people to take part in the campaigns. There have been many public rallies to promote awareness about the dangers of illicit drug use, with governments and organisations taking the lead in organising such events.
IIT-Delhi and Bombay to Conduct Classes Online in Next Semester
Two of India's most-premier educational institutions – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) -Delhi and IIT-Bombay – said that all classes for the next semester will conducted completely online in view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
IIT-Delhi director V. Ramgopal Rao said that the institute will follow the recommendations made by a sub-committee on the minimum common strategy to be followed by IITs.
According to the sub-committee's report, submitted to the IIT council's standing committee in June, classes for the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year will be conducted online for all courses.
The situation will be reviewed again in October 2020.
Marking a milestone in France's recovery from a coronavirus lockdown, the Eiffel Tower reopened to visitors after its longest ever closure in peace time: 104 days.
Tourists trickling back to Paris were delighted to find the landmark open when some other attractions in the French capital remain closed.
The Louvre Museum will reopen in July.
Of the tower's three decks, only the first two were reopened.
The tower lost 27 million euros ($30 million) from the lockdown that started in March.
