Prabhat Dairy Enters Beverages Segment

Prabhat Dairy Ltd. has entered the dairy beverages segment in a bid to grow its consumer business from the current Rs. 400 crore to Rs. 1,000 crore in two years.

Beverages such as milkshakes, lassi and Chaas would be made available in retail stores in Tetra Pak. The firm plans to expand its beverage market in two phases. In phase I, it will cover Maharashtra followed by pan-India expansion in phase II next year.

CTS in 2018 Fortune 500 List

IT Services major Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) is 195 on the 2018 Fortune 500, Fortune Magazine's annual ranking of America's largest companies. Cognizant first debuted on the list in 2011 at No. 484 and has risen each year.

Companies in the Fortune 500 are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Cognizant's 2017 revenue of $14.81 billion was an increase of 9.8% over 2016, moving the company up 10 spots on the 2017 Fortune 500.

Fresh Flaw in Chips

Cyber security researchers have found a new security flaw that affects a broad swath of modern computing chips and is related to the Spectre and Meltdown chip flaws that emerged in January.

The newest chip problem, known as Speculative Store Bypass or "Variant 4" because it's in the same family as the original group of flaws, was disclosed by security researchers at Microsoft Corp and Alphabet Inc's Google.

Indian women's badminton team, led by Saina Nehwal, notched up a dominating win over lowly Australia in the second Group A match of the Uber Cup final.

Rafael Nadal returned to the top of the world rankings on Monday after winning his eighth Italian Open title to confirm once more his status as the king of the clay court.

India Will Welcome Any Peace Move

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India will take any statement from Pakistan towards peace between the two countries seriously. She also stated that the security forces will fully honour the ceasefire announced by the government.

These comments come in the backdrop of Pakistan Army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa's call last month for peaceful resolution of disputes, including Kashmir, through talks.

Navy's All-women Crew Arrived in Goa

Indian Navy's six-member all-women crew arrived in Goa after circumnavigating the globe in over eight months on board the naval vessel INSV Tarini. The expedition, christened 'Navika Sagar Parikrama', was flagged off from the INS Mandovi boat pool here on September 10, 2017.

The crew covered 21,600 nautical miles in the Indian-built sailing vessel INSV Tarini that visited five countries and crossed the Equator twice. It sailed across four continents and three oceans, and passed south of the three Great Capes - Leeuwin, Horn and Good Hope.
The expedition was completed in six legs, with stopovers at the Fremantle (Australia), Lyttleton (New Zealand), Port Stanley (Falkland Islands), Cape Town (South Africa) and Mauritius.
