With a resounding election victory last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seemed to have an easy path toward quickly establishing a coalition government with his traditional nationalist, religious and ultra-Orthodox Jewish allies.
But after weeks of negotiations with potential partners, Netanyahu is finding the task harder than expected and is flirting with the idea of reaching out to his main dovish rivals to form a unity government. As he decides which path to take, he will seek an additional two-week extension to put his coalition together.
Titanic Deckchair Sold for 100,000 Pounds
One of a handful of deckchairs salvaged from the wreck of the doomed liner Titanic has fetched a whopping 100,000 pounds at an auction in the UK.
The chair was sold to an unnamed UK-based collector who has a passion for buying pieces of historic importance.
The Nantucket wooden chair was found floating on the surface by the crew of the Mackay-Bennett, which was sent to recover victims' bodies after Titanic sank in the Atlantic waters.
India's Investment Climate Better than Other BRICS Nations
Though India has a better investment climate among BRICS nations, its regulatory and tax system-related challenges are impacting immediate investment plans, over 90 corporate leaders of German high-tech companies have said in a survey.
94 percent of the surveyed CEOs and CFOs from leading German high-tech companies stated that India currently offers a better investment climate than other BRICS countries.
According to the study, several perceived challenges have been identified across all high-tech manufacturing sectors and investor groups, including companies starting a business, already operating in India and potential investors which operate in other BRICS countries.
Microsoft has unveiled a long-awaited suite of touch-friendly Office apps that allow Windows phone users to work on Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents on their phones with touch commands and to transfer them easily between devices.
Test versions of what Microsoft is calling its Office Universal apps are available to download immediately and full versions will be available by the end of the month.

Three Indian Race Walkers Qualify for Rio Olympics
Three Indian race walkers -- Khushbir Kaur, Manish Rawat and Sandeep Kumar -- qualified for next year's Rio Olympics after creditable performances in the IAAF Race Walking Challenge at Rio Maior in Portugal.
National women's 20 km walk record holder Khushbir Kaur clocked 1:33:58, better than the Rio 2016 qualification time of 1:35.
In the men's 20 km race walk, Manish Rawat logged a personal best performance to finish in top 10 with a timing of 1:22:50, well above the Rio Games qualification time of 1:24.
National 50 km race walk record holder Sandeep Kumar also qualified for Rio Games.
Sitaram Yechury Elected as New CPI(M) General Secretary
CPI(M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury was elected as the new General Secretary of the party, succeeding Prakash Karat.
Karat had suggested Yechury's name for the post after the other frontrunner S. Ramachandran Pillai withdrew from the race.
Yechury's name was approved unanimously by the party's new central committee, which has has 91 members besides five special invitees and five permanent invitees.
Yechury becomes the fifth general secretary of the party.
