Jasmine Arora, Topic: -Most high level positions in companies are filled by men, even though the workforce in many developed countries consists of 50 percent female workers. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of management positions to women. Discuss, what is your opinion? When we think of the topic above, we can visualise it as serious problem as the efforts of Women are being underpaid due to “Gender Inequality”. Though Women have marked themselves in every field from Business to being in Politics to being an Astronauts. Still they are being underpaid or are not considered at the Senior Level Jobs. If we talk of developed nations like America,China there are more opportunities & more examples of Successful Business Women. We can Quote an example of “Sheryl Sandberg” the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook. She is one of the most prominent example in being a successful Leader. “Kalpana Chawla” one of the Astronaut was the live example of where Women can excel & there are no boundaries to any field where a Women can't reach. “Kiran Bedi” the IPS of India & also the first women officer. She has also set up an example & also motivated Women to stand for her rights. But still after so many examples the Women are not preferred when they are in competition of Men. Though the women are the most reliable, trustworthy & focussed to their work. They posses the most important character that a successful person shoul have is the women are good at multi-tasking as they handle all the things from household work to office work to taking care of children. So, even after the examples of such prominent characters, the selection is done on the basis of Gender Inequality which is a serious concern. Also, if we are adpting the Western Culture so fast we should see the other areas too. As in China, almost 70% women are preferred in selecting the workforce. Also in America & other nations Women are preferred more. Therefore, the same rights & laws should prevail in India to give a chance to every women to prove themselves in various fields. The women should be equally treated as men & there should be fixed allocation in the preference to the women, whether it's in selection of workforce or management or higher degree of positions. Changing this scenerio of being equal, there will be change in Income Level, contribution will be there in economy which will lead India finally being the Developed Nation. Also, no efforts of women will be wasted, there will be no discrimination of men over women & they will also feel self-motivated. This will also lead in reduction of crimes as women will be known to her rights, have more confidence in her. Finally, towards the end I wish to see the difference in the mentality of people in coming years & also feel strongly that Women will be Equally Treated as Men are. Thanks.
