The very basic idea of education starts with learning which could be through beliefs, ideas, experiences, concepts, trends, facts, etc. These are the building blocks and add to the knowledge as we grow.

it is very essentialto know the concept or idea or trend before you learn the facts for thbe same issue, but in many a cases facts can pour light upon the concepts and make it more understandable. If we consider a physics class, the idea and concept is more important to understand gravity before we come to know its exact decimal value. This case may even be true everytime, in most of the business schools, case studies are used to illustrate a particular topic before introducing the concept, which makes it more understandbale.

Eventhough understanding the concept provides transparency and ablity to co-relate to the concepts, but the facts can also act as an aid to co-relate to the concept. As L.J Keynes (father of mordern economics) presented Adam Smith's(father of economics) idea in a different outlook. Adam Smith stated that supply creates its own demand, which was followed for about 150 years but K.J.Keynes stated that demand creats its own supply. Both the concepts were valid but showed a differtent perspective of the same situation as in this although greater curiosity arises with the introduction of facts before concepts and ideas as the shadow created by a hand in front of the torch would create more curiosity to understand the concept but on the another hand curiosity can even be created by the concepts while moving in a train ,the tree tend to move backwards. its not the trees rather the train is moving foreward. This fact cannot be understood without the concept being cleared .Also the fact and figures change with time as the concept changes.

the trend of learning concept before facts is right but in some cases learning fact at first hand may be more effective.
