Yes, you may have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. If any candidate found physically unfit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission shall be cancelled.
If you want to appear in IIT JAM Exam, then you have to satisfy all the other eligibility conditions required to appear in the exam.
IIT JAM Exam will be conducted in the month of February 2019. So, you have enough time left for the preparation.
