Dear Aspirant,
The first eight slots of IBPS PO (Prelims) are already over. Though the level of difficulty of the questions remained between easy and difficult, certain new type of questions did come as a surprise to most of the candidates taking the test.
Here is a closer look at the topic wise break-up of various sections with their overall difficulty level and expected cut-offs.
Section-1 (Numerical Ability)
Overall difficulty Level: Moderate (Calculative and time taking)
Expected Sectional Cut-Off: Between 5.5 and 7.0 marks
Recommendation: Spend around 20-25 minutes in this section; an attempt of 15-18 questions with an overall accuracy of 75-80% will help you land in the safe zone.
Section-2 (Reasoning)
Overall difficulty Level: Moderate (most of the questions were easy; however, the arrangement puzzle was time taking)
Expected Sectional Cut-Off: Between 9.5 and 10.75 marks
Recommendation: Spend around 20-25 minutes in this section; an attempt of 18-20 questions with an overall accuracy of 75-80% will help you land in the safe zone.
Section-3 (English)
Overall difficulty Level: Moderate (most of the questions were easy; however, the passage in certain cases was long and time taking)
Expected Sectional Cut-Off: Between 5.5-7.25 marks
Recommendation: Spend around 15-20 minutes in this section; an attempt of 15-18 questions with an overall accuracy of 75-80% will help you land in the safe zone.
With two more days of exams left, the level of difficulty of the questions is most likely to remain the same as that of the first two days and expected overall cut-off will remain between 47 and 53 marks (as already seen in SBI PO (Prelims).
For the candidates who have already taken the test, it’s high time to start preparing for the IBPS PO (Mains) exam. It’s a good idea to start taking mock tests. For all those who have the test in the upcoming slots, brush up your skills once more by taking some more mock tests before the actual exam.
