MORE STORIES THIS MONTH

The panel opened up honest conversations about teaching journeys, challenges and lessons learned. The discussion got so engaging that the session ran longer than planned, and no one seemed in a hurry to leave.

A big thank you to LANGUAGECERT for joining us in making the celebration even more special, and to all our partner institutes for nominating the teachers who make learning come alive every day.

Because when teachers feel valued, motivated and inspired, students benefit and institutes grow stronger.

The DET checks all three boxes: no test center booking required, results in under 48 hours, and scores sent free to unlimited institutions. For agents, that translates directly into fewer scheduling headaches and faster file completions for students.

Some of the prominent names now on the list:

  • US: All 8 Ivy League schools (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, and more), plus Duke, University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Caltech, UC Berkeley, and more.
  • Canada: All 15 U15 universities, including University of Toronto and McGill.
  • UK:Imperial College London, University of Warwick, University of Leeds, University of Southampton, University of Liverpool, and more.
  • Ireland: Near-universal university acceptance, including Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Business School.

The takeaway for agents: With this scale of acceptance across the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland, the DET is fast becoming the choice for students who want a faster, more flexible path to their offer letter.

Study Abroad Updates

Big changes ahead for Australia student visas

Australia has announced tighter student and temporary visa rules, including restrictions on dependents for most students and graduate visa holders, with exceptions for some ASEAN/Pacific nationals and PhD programmes. The reforms also target visa hopping, repeated course changes used to extend stays, weak visa applications and visitor-to-other-visa switching through a No Further Stay condition.

Counsellors should closely track implementation dates and updated eligibility rules before advising students.

UK raises Student Route maintenance funds for 2026/27

The UK has increased the financial maintenance requirement for Student Route applicants for the 2026/27 academic year. Students studying in London will need to show £1,570 per month, while those studying outside London will need £1,203 per month, for up to nine months.

Counsellors should update financial planning and proof-of-funds guidance so students are prepared for the revised maintenance requirements.

New Zealand introduces new 6-month Graduate Work Visa

From 16 November 2026, eligible international graduates who do not qualify for the standard Post-Study Work Visa will be able to apply for the new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa. The visa will provide up to six months of open work rights, giving graduates additional time to look for employment and potentially move into another eligible work visa pathway.

Applicants will need to meet specific eligibility criteria, including holding an eligible NZQCF Level 5 to 7 qualification, applying within three months of their student visa expiry and showing at least NZD 5,000 in available funds.
