NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) is a national level Talent Search Examination conducted by NCERT to provide scholarships to meritorious students for pursuing higher studies. The examination is conducted at two levels i.e. first, state-level and then, National Level. The exam syllabus is broadly based on curriculum covered in classes 9th and 10th. The exam pattern is broadly the same for both the levels. There are two papers: Mental Ability Test (MAT) which is an aptitude test, and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), which tests for science, math and social science.
