The political landscape of Bangladesh was shaken by a historic verdict delivered by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT). Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ousted after a massive student uprising that led to the fall of her government, was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity. The trial, conducted in Hasina's absence, drew criticism and allegations of political vendetta.
The ICT announced the death sentence after months of proceedings. The charges centred around alleged crimes against humanity committed during the unrest preceding her ouster.
In a major step towards strengthening India's energy security, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri announced that Indian public sector oil companies, for the first time, signed a one-year deal to import liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the United States.
Highlighting India's position as one of the largest and the fastest-growing LPG markets in the world, Puri said that the new agreement marks a significant milestone in the country's efforts to diversify its LPG sourcing.
RBI Approves Appointment of S. Krishnan as Chairman of J&K Bank

SpaceX Launches NASA's Sentinel-6BA Satellite to Monitor Sea leVel Change
SpaceX launched NASA's Sentinel-6B satellite aimed at monitoring sea level change, the US space agency said.
Sentinel-6B is an Earth-observing satellite jointly developed by NASA and US and European partners to observe the ocean and measure sea level rise. The satellite will build on over 30 years of sea level data to improve weather forecasts.
It will help improve coastal planning, protect critical infrastructure, and advance weather forecasts.
This is the second Sentinel-6 satellite Falcon 9 launched after delivering the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite to orbit in November 2020.
Sentinel-6B will deliver data on about 90 per cent of Earth's ocean, providing direct benefits to humanity.
Karnataka Launches KEO, an Affordable AI PC
The Karnataka government launched KEO (knowledge-driven, economical, open-source), a personal computer powered by RISC-V processors and a Linux-based operating system. IT-BT (IT and biotech) minister Priyanak Kharge said that these affordable "AI-ready computers" aim to address the digital divide in the state. He added that Karnataka stands at only 15%, far below what's required for modern education and digital-first jobs.
Positioned as a low-cost, open-source device, KEO comes with 4G, wi-fi, USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI ports, and an audio jack. It also includes an on-device AI core and is preloaded with BUDDH, an AI agent trained on the Karnataka DSERT (department of state education research and training) syllabus to support students in low-connectivity areas.
Sangakkara Returns as Rajasthan Royals' Head Coach
Kumar Sangakkara returned as the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2026, apart from continuing in his role as the Director of Cricket, the franchise announced.
Sangakkara had served in the role of head coach from 2021 to 2024, before Rahul Dravid took over the position for IPL 2025. Under Sangakkara, Royals had played the final in 2022 and reached the playoffs in IPL 2024.
Sansad Sports Festival Begins at SMS Stadium
The 'Sansad Sports Festival', organised on the theme of 'Fit India, Hit India' by the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, began in November at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan with sports and cultural presentations.
More than one lakh Jaipurites are participating in various sports in this festival which will continue till December 25.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is be the chief guest of this programme, while the Sports, Youth Affairs, Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore presides over it.
These sports are included: Archery, cricket, basketball, sitoliya, volleyball, hockey, football, handball, wrestling, kho-kho, kabaddi, tug of war, mallakhamb, gymnastics and lemon and spoon race etc.

Goa police first in India with 100% cyber fraud response
Goa police became the first state police force in India to achieve a 100% response rate in cyber fraud calls. Its cyber fraud call centre received over 5,000 calls, and 581 complaints were registered. They also successfully responded to around 1,500 missed calls, thereby ensuring 100% accessibility, said cyber crime SP Rahul Gupta.
Nowhere in India is there a 100% response rate. Also, each call is being recorded and reviewed for quality assurance on the model of private corporates.

OP Jindal Global University (JGU) announced five new Short-Term Study Abroad Programmes (ST-SAPs) in Japan for Summer 2026, expanding its internationalisation efforts and strengthening India-Japan academic collaboration. Nagaland Confirms UK as Partner for Hornbill Festival 2025

The Iranian government put an end to its one-way visa-free entry for Indian citizens, starting from November 22. From this day, Indian nationals need to hold a visa to travel to the country, or even to use the country's airports as key transition points. Following the decision, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a set of fresh advisories, highlighting issues like kidnapping and job fraud.
