  • In a proud moment for eco-tourism in India, Odisha's Sunapur and Puri beaches once again achieved the prestigious Blue Flag Certification for the year 2025–26. This international honour reaffirms their position among the cleanest and most environmentally sustainable beaches globally.
  • The Blue Flag is a globally recognised eco-label awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) based in Denmark. It is granted to beaches, marinas, and sustainable boating tourism operators that meet 33 stringent criteria covering,

Scientists Discover New Flying Reptile Species in Fossilised Dinosaur Vomit

  • In a scientific discovery, researchers identified a new extinct flying reptile species inside fossilised dinosaur vomit. The remains, known as 'regurgitalite', were stored for years in the Museu Camara Cascudo at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. Although they had been kept safely in the museum, they were mostly ignored until now.
  • This fossil was preserved with other specimens from the Araripe region, but its provenance and collection time were unclear. The specimen included bones from two individuals of the recently identified filter-feeding pterosaur species Bakiribu waridza and four fossil fish.

Govt Unveils Rs. 1,500 Crore Projects to Modernise New Mangalore Port

  • The Central Government announced a significant investment of ₹1,500 crore for the modernisation of the New Mangalore Port in Karnataka. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) held in Mangaluru. As part of the launch, a total of 20 development projects were unveiled to upgrade infrastructure, increase capacity, and integrate advanced digital technologies, aligning with the larger national vision of "Viksit Bharat".

India Imposes Five-Year Anti-Dumping Duty on Vietnamese Steel

  • India imposed an anti-dumping duty of USD 121.55 per tonne on imports of hot rolled flat steel products from Vietnam for five years.
  • The move is aimed at protecting domestic manufacturers from cheap imports.
  • According to a notification by the finance ministry, the imposition of the duty was recommended by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR).

Govt. Approves 17 Projects under Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme

  • The government approved 17 projects entailing about Rs. 7,172 crore investment across six categories under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), underlining India's resolve and its decisive push into producing high-value components. These projects will lead to production worth Rs. 65,111 crore cumulatively.
  • The 17 projects greenlit now in the second tranche, bring total projects under the scheme to 24.
  • The players included Jabil Circuit India, Aequs Consumer Products, Uno Minda, ASUX Safety Components India, Zetfab India, TE Connectivity India, and Meena Electrotech, among others.
  • The categories include camera module, connectors, multi-layer PCB, oscillators, enclosures among others and are spread across nine states.

ISRO to Triple Spacecraft Output, Launch Chandrayaan-4 in 2028

  • ISRO is gearing up for one of its busiest times with seven more launches planned this financial year, even as India's first human spaceflight remains scheduled for 2027, its chairman V. Narayanan said.
  • Narayanan said that ISRO is targeting seven more launches before the end of the current financial year, including a commercial communication satellite, and multiple PSLV and GSLV missions. A milestone will be the launch of the first PSLV manufactured entirely by the Indian industry.
  • The government has approved the Chandrayaan-4 mission, designed as a lunar sample-return mission and it will be India's most complex lunar endeavour yet.
  • The Chandrayaan-4 mission is targeted for 2028.

Kiaan Secures Best Indian Finish at FIA Karting World Cup

  • Kiaan Shah was the highest-placed Indian competitor, finishing 13th in the junior category at the FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup held in Selangor, Malaysia.
  • With four Indians in the fray among 60 drivers, Kiaan contended with a field full of national champions and dealt with other vehicles barging into him, as well as some technical issues with his vehicle.
  • The eventual podium featured the United States' Troy Ferguson in top spot after Japan's Simba Motoda – who passed the chequered flag first – was handed a five-second penalty. Tommy Hart finished second ahead of Tomasz Cichoracki.

Dhanush Wins Air Rifle Gold in Deaflympics

  • Dhanush Srikanth opened the account for India with a gold medal in the men's air rifle event at the Deaflympics in Tokyo.
  • India's Mohammed Murtaza Vania finished with a final score of 250.1 and took the silver medal while Korea's Baek Seunghak settled for bronze with a score of 223.6.
  • Apart from his gold medal, Srikanth also set a new Deaf Final World Record of 252.2.

The 12th Samvad Conclave Kicks Off in Jamshedpur

  • The Steel City of Jamshedpur is hosting the 12th of edition of Samvad conclave. The five-day event is being held at Gopal Maidan from November 15 to 19, 2025.
  • Coinciding with two historic milestones, the 25th Statehood Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, the revered tribal icon, Samvaad 2025 brings together 2,500 participants representing 153 tribes from 26 states and Union Territories, aiming to cover nearly 50% of India's tribal representation at a single forum.

The Government Notifies Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025

  • The Government of India notified the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025. This marks the full operationalisation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Together, the Act and the Rules form a clear and citizen-centred framework for the responsible use of digital personal data. They place equal weight on individual rights and lawful data processing.
  • The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invited public comments on the draft Rules before finalising them. Consultations were held in Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. A wide range of participants took part in these discussions. Start-ups, MSMEs, industry bodies, civil society groups and government departments all offered detailed suggestions. Citizens also shared their views. In total, 6,915 inputs were received during the consultation process. These contributions played a key role in shaping the final Rules.
  • With the notification of the Rules, India now has a practical and innovation-friendly system for data protection. It supports ease of understanding, encourages compliance and strengthens trust in the country's growing digital ecosystem.

Army's Sapta Shakti Command Conducts Large-scale Combat Exercise in Thar Desert

  • The Indian Army's Sapta Shakti Command conducted a large-scale combat exercise at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in the Thar Desert to assess war preparedness and operational capability of its formations.
  • The exercise, carried out by the command's Ranbankura Division, aimed to refine tactical drills, strengthen inter-arms coordination, and test the integration of all units and sub-units in challenging battlefield conditions.
  • Sapta Shakti Command chief Lt Gen Manjinder Singh reviewed the operational manoeuvres during the exercise.

IAF Contingent Arrives in France for Garuda�'2025 Air Exercise

  • A major milestone in the Indo�'French defence partnership began as the Indian Air Force contingent landed at the Mont�'de�'Marsan Air Base in France for the biennial bilateral air exercise Garuda�'2025, scheduled from November 16 to 27, 2025. This exercise reflects deepening ties between India and France across military, technological and strategic domains.
  • The bilateral air exercise – Garuda 25 is the 8th edition.
  • Originally launched in 2003, the bilateral air exercise Exercise Garuda brings together the Indian Air Force and the French Air and Space Force in joint training environments.
  • India and France share a broad strategic partnership including defence technology, aviation cooperation, and joint operations. The current edition seeks to further boost operational synergy and mutual learning.

West Bengal's First Private Veterinary College Opens in Hooghly's Mogra

  • West Bengal's first private veterinary college started functioning, marking a significant step towards addressing the demand–supply gap of professionals in the sector.
  • JIS College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (JISCOVAS) has been constructed on a 30-acre campus in Mogra in Hooghly district.
  • Affiliated to the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) and recognised by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), the institution will offer the five-and-a-half-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) programme.
  • Admissions require NEET UG qualification, along with 50 per cent marks in physics, chemistry, biology and English at the 10+2 level for general category candidates. The eligible age range is 18 to 25 years.

This initiative aims to eliminate redundant border procedures, enhance connectivity, and deepen political and economic collaboration among the Gulf states.
  • The Gulf Cooperation Council is a regional bloc, founded in 1981, established to promote political, economic, and social integration among six Arab countries in the Persian Gulf. The headquarters are in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • The member nations are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
