Maharashtra, Abu Dhabi Ports Group Inks USD 2 Billion MoU to Boost Maritime Growth
In a significant boost to India's maritime growth, the Government of Maharashtra in 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group and the Investment Resource & Presidential Office of Abu Dhabi, paving the way for up to USD 2 billion in investments across key maritime sectors, as per Maharashtra's Chief Minister's office.
The agreement aims to promote technological collaboration, port modernisation, logistics development, and maritime employment, marking a new phase of international cooperation between India and the UAE in the blue economy.
According to officials, the partnership will drive investment in diversified sectors, including shipbuilding, ship-breaking, water transport, port infrastructure, and even sports management, reflecting the growing global interest in India's maritime potential.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presided over the signing ceremony, which was attended by Ahmad Al Mutawa, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, Salah Al Nasser, CEO of Equiline Group, Ambar Ayade, MD & CEO of Rural Enhancers Group; and several other dignitaries.
ISRO Rolls Out Its LVM3 Rocket for a November 2 Launch with the CMS-03 satellite
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the CMS-03 communication satellite with its LVM3 vehicle in November 2025, making it the fifth operational satellite in the series. According to ISRO, the CMS-03 multi-band communication satellite will provide services over a wide oceanic region, including the Indian landmass. "India's LVM3 launch vehicle was scheduled to launch the CMS-03 communication satellite in its 5th operational flight (LVM3-M5).
First Fully Digitised National Marine Fisheries Census 2025 Launched
In a significant step towards data-driven fisheries management, the Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian, launched the household enumeration phase of the National Marine Fisheries Census (MFC) 2025 at the ICAR–Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi.
The MFC 2025 marks a historic milestone as it became India's first fully digitised fisheries census, introducing modern technology and real-time monitoring to collect data from marine fishing communities across the country.

Deepak Mittal assumed charge as the Ambassador-Designate of India to the United Arab Emirates, bringing with him over two decades of diplomatic experience across key global assignments. A 1998-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service, Mittal has served in Indian missions in Egypt, Israel, and Bangladesh, and was earlier the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and has served as India's Ambassador to the State of Qatar.
At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, Mittal has held several important positions, including leading the division handling consular affairs and later heading the desk managing India's relations with Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran. He has also served in the Office of the Prime Minister of India for two terms, first as Director and later as Additional Secretary. Fluent in Hindi, English, and Arabic, Mittal is known for his wide-ranging diplomatic expertise and regional experience.

The Union Health Ministry has achieved three Guinness World Records titles under the nationwide Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA) campaign, according to a release issued by the Ministry on Friday.
The records include - the most people to register for a healthcare platform in one month (3,21,49,711 or over 3.21 crore), the most people to sign up for a breast cancer screening online in one week (9,94,349 or over 9.94 lakh), and the most people to sign up for vital signs screening online in one week at the State level (1,25,406 or over 1.25 lakh).

Lucknow has been added to the list of UNESCO creative cities for its rich and diverse culinary heritage. The city has been recognised in the category of Gastronomy at the 43rd session of its General Conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The designation places Lucknow among 70 gastronomy cities worldwide and makes it the second Indian city to win the title after Hyderabad.

The Ministry of Defence said that the 1990-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) previously served as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA). He also served as Integrated Financial Advisor in various commands and field offices of the Defence Accounts Department. Furthermore, Arora has vast experience in the areas of accounting, audit, budgeting and personnel management.
Rajnath Singh Arrives in Kuala Lumpur for ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived for the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, where he addressed the forum on 'Reflection on 15 years of ADMM-Plus and Charting the Way Forward'.
The ADMM serves as the highest defence consultative and cooperative mechanism within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ADMM-Plus is a platform for ASEAN member states, which includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, and its eight Dialogue Partners--India, the US, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand--to strengthen security and defence cooperation.

Japanese Language Course to Commence at Indo-Japan Chamber
The Language School of the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will commence a beginners' course in Japanese in November 2025. The online classes will be held every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The course covers spoken and written Japanese, and lessons on Japanese art, culture, and business etiquette. A Multi-ethnic Trilingual School built with Indian grant assistance was inaugurated and handed over to the Government of Sri Lanka in Polonnaruwa today. The ceremony was jointly presided over by Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha. After inaugurating the school, Amarasuriya thanked the Indian Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
