UAE Unveils First Sovereign Mobility Cloud for Autonomous Transport
The UAE unveiled its first Sovereign Mobility Cloud at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport, marking a major step in the country's autonomous mobility strategy. Enabled by Core42's Sovereign Public Cloud and powered by Microsoft Azure, the platform establishes a secure digital infrastructure for next-generation transportation.
The Sovereign Mobility Cloud is designed to accelerate autonomous mobility while ensuring all data is hosted within the UAE and governed under national regulations. It will support high-definition mapping, telematics, fleet operations, traffic management, and digital twins, creating a trusted environment for collaboration among government, industry, and research institutions.
The initiative will also enable live traffic management, fleet tracking, and integration of autonomous vehicles, while providing regulatory sandboxes and test hubs to advance innovation. Microsoft and Core42 will supply the sovereign-enabled cloud foundation and technical expertise, while Space42 will lead deployment through pilots and commercial rollouts.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Launches 'Zen Life' Mobile Banking App
The Finance Minister emphasised that while technology is essential to accelerate economic growth, banks must also contribute with an innovative approach. She was speaking at a special function held in Pune, in September 2025, to mark the 91st Foundation Day of Bank of Maharashtra.
At the event, the Finance Minister inaugurated the new Corporate Office of the Bank at Baner and also launched the 'Zen Life' mobile banking application through video conferencing.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concept of "Nagrik Devo Bhava", the Finance Minister underlined the need to ensure that taxation and banking schemes are designed to be customer-centric.

FSSAI Launches Licensing Framework for Manufacturing of Ayurveda Aahara on FoSCoS Portal
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, launched a dedicated licensing and registration window for Ayurveda Aahara products on its Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) portal. This significant step will enable manufacturers across India to seamlessly apply for licenses to produce and market traditional Ayurvedic foods.
The new 'Kind of Business' (KoB) framework for Ayurveda Aahara aims to formalise and streamline the sector, aligning traditional recipes—as documented in authoritative Ayurveda texts—with contemporary food safety and quality standards. This move is designed to boost the food and Ayurveda industries by creating a regulated pathway for these products to reach the market.
Ravichandran Ashwin Becomes First Ex-India International to Play in the BBL, Joins 2015-16 Champions
Ravichandran Ashwin, in September 2025, signed with Sydney Thunder for BBL 15, and became the first male Indian player to join a Big Bash League club. The 39-year-old off-spinner, who retired from international cricket last year and more recently from the IPL, will join the Thunder in early January to boost their campaign for consecutive BBL Finals appearances.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Inaugurates Sikkim Horticulture College Building
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in September 2025, virtually inaugurated the new administrative and academic building of the College of Horticulture, Sikkim, in New Delhi. Addressing the media, Mr Singh said that this 52 crore rupees worth project will show a new direction for the students, farmers of Sikkim and the entire North-East region.
He added that students will not only learn crop production techniques but will also gain in-depth knowledge about processing, packaging, marketing, and export. The Minister also said that the campus will prepare the state to become a role model for a green economy.
Indian Air Force and IIT Ropar Signs MoU for Indigenous Technology Development
Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar in Punjab, in September 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaborative developmental projects aimed at supporting the sustenance and operational requirements of India's air power. This partnership seeks to accelerate the IAF's indigenisation efforts in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Under the MOU, IAF has identified key focus areas related to technology development and indigenous solutions for the sustenance of weapon systems.
IIT Ropar will extend consultancy support, backed by advanced research, feasibility studies and development of technology demonstrators.
The President of India to Confer National Geoscience Awards 2024 on 26th September 2025 in New Delhi
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious National Geoscience Awards (NGA) 2024 at a ceremonial function held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi, in September 2025. The event graced by the presence of G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal & Mines and Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister of State for Coal & Mines.
Instituted in 1966 by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, the National Geoscience Awards (formerly known as the National Mineral Awards until 2009) are among the country's oldest and most prestigious honors in the field of geosciences.
The objective of these Awards was to honour individuals and teams for extraordinary achievements and outstanding contributions in various fields of geosciences i.e. mineral discovery & exploration, Mining Technology & Mineral Beneficiation, fundamental/ applied geosciences.
The Ministry of Mines presents the National Geoscience Awards annually under the following three categories:
(i) National Geoscience Award for Lifetime Achievement
(ii) National Geoscience Award
(iii) National Young Geoscientist Award
PM Modi to Launch Bihar's Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the "Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojna" from New Delhi via video conferencing.
Bihar government said the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme will help make women self-reliant and empowered. Under this scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred 10,000 rupees directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts via DBT through video conferencing. This scheme is considered very significant ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
The government believes that empowering women will help stop migration from the state and make Bihar self-reliant. Under it, the resolve of "Empowered Women, Prosperous Bihar" will be fulfilled in both rural and urban areas. It will be implemented through Self Help Groups. Around one crore 10 lakh applications have been submitted to avail the benefit.
The first instalment of 10,000 rupees transferred to the accounts of 75 lakh women. This initiative is being launched as part of a series of welfare measures for women under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The Ministry of Ayush, in September 2025, unveiled "Prayas", an Integrated Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, marking a milestone in the Ayush domain. The centre was inaugurated on the occasion of the 10th Ayurveda Day by the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Ayush (IC) and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, in the presence of Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power & New & Renewable Energy, senior officials of the Ministry, and faculty of AIIA Goa.
"Prayas" is among the first-of-its-kind multi-disciplinary centres in the country that brings together Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Yoga, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and modern Paediatrics under one roof. Designed to provide holistic and patient-centred neuro-rehabilitation, the Centre is especially focused on children with neurological and developmental conditions.
