Albania Appoints World's First AI-Generated Minister to Fight Corruption

  • Albania appointed the world's first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated government minister with a goal to make the nation corruption free. Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the digital minister to his cabinet.
  • The digital assistant named 'Diella meaning 'Sun' and has been asking people how to navigate government services online since January. Diella got responsibility of taking all decisions related to the public tenders, making them 100 per cent corruption-free.

India Launches SAJEX 2025 in Jeddah to Strengthen Jewellery Trade with Saudi Arabia

  • The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), in association with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, the Embassy of India in Riyadh, and India's Ministry of Commerce & Industry, launched the Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) 2025.
  • The landmark event aimed at deepening India- Saudi trade ties while opening new channels across the GCC and global markets.
  • SAJEX 2025 was held in Jeddah Superdome from September 11-13, and hosted over 200 exhibitors across 250 booths and attract more than 2,000 business visitors and international buyers.
  • Exhibits ranged from diamond and colored gemstone jewellery to bridal collections, lab-grown diamonds, gold pieces in 18k, 21k, and 22k purities, as well as cutting-edge jewellery technology.

NIFT Patna and ABFRL signed an MoU to Empower Rural Women

  • The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Patna under the Ministry of Textiles signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) in the presence of Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh.
  • This initiative seeks to transform the lives of rural women by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and providing direct access to employment opportunities in Bihar's growing textile sector.

ICICI Bank, Amazon Pay Renew Partnership for Co-branded Credit Cards

  • Private sector lender ICICI Bank renewed its partnership with e-commerce giant Amazon's payment vertical, Amazon Pay, for their co-branded credit card offering "Amazon Pay ICICI Credit" for a further seven years.
  • The co-branded credit card by ICICI Bank and Amazon is the largest such offering in the country, with a customer base of over 5 million.
  • The e-commerce firm first partnered with ICICI Bank in 2018 for the card.

ICC Announces All-female Match Officials Panel for Women's World Cup; First Time in Tournament history

  • The ICC announced that the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup will feature an all-female group of umpires and match officials for the first time in the history of the tournament.
  • The group of 14 umpires includes the trio of Claire Polosak, Jacqueline Williams and Sue Redfern that will be appearing at their third Women's World Cup, while Lauren Agenbag and Kim Cotton will be at their second World Cup after they were the officiating umpires when Australia won their unprecedented seventh title in New Zealand in 2022.
  • The match referee panel of four includes Trudy Anderson, Shandre Fritz, G. S. Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira, who all bring varying levels of experience in the role to the 13th edition of the Women's World Cup that will be held in India and Sri Lanka from September 30.

At 160 kmph, Namo Bharat Becomes India's Fastest Train, Connecting Delhi to Meerut in Under 60 Minutes

  • The Namo Bharat train, operating at a maximum speed of 160 km/h on the 55-km stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), became the fastest train in the country.
  • Until now, semi-high-speed trains like the Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat held the top spot, both running at 160 km/h on specific routes. However, following a June 2024 directive, their speed was capped at 130 km/h. Namo Bharat, on the other hand, touched 160 km/h on select stretches, giving commuters a taste of true rapid transit.

Chief of the Naval Staff Commissions the Navy's New Communications Base INS Aravali

  • Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi commissioned the Navy's new communications base INS Aravali in Gurugram.
  • INS Aravali, deriving its name from the unwavering Aravali range, shall support various information and communication centres of the Indian Navy, which are key to India's and the Indian Navy's command, control and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) framework.
  • Guided by the motto 'Maritime Security through Collaboration', the Naval Base exemplifies a supportive and collaborative ethos, working seamlessly with naval units, MDA centres and allied stakeholders, said the official in a statement.

All India Thal Sainik Camp 2025 Concludes in Delhi

  • With the participation of 1,547 cadets representing 17 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorates from across the country, the 'All India Thal Sainik Camp-2025' concluded at the DGNCC Camp, Delhi Cantt. in September 2025.
  • The camp involved various competitions, including Weapon firing, Map Reading, judging distance & field signal and Health & Hygiene events that challenged the cadets' physical and mental capabilities.

AIIMS Becomes First Govt Medical College in India to Train on da Vinci Robotic System

  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi inaugurated the advanced da Vinci Surgical Robot at its Skills, E-Learning and Telemedicine (SET) Facility, marking a significant milestone in robotic surgery training in India.
  • This was the first installation of the da Vinci system for training at a government medical college in the country.
  • The new robotic platform, provided by Intuitive Surgical under a memorandum of understanding, makes AIIMS Delhi the only institution in India with two robotic systems dedicated solely to training.
  • The facility already houses a Hugo robotic trainer by Medtronic, offering comprehensive, hands-on robotic surgery training for students, residents, nurses, and faculty.

Rashtriya Poshan Maah Kicks Off in Puducherry, Emphasizes Balanced Diets

  • In September 2025, the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah inaugurated in Puducherry. Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan said that good nutrition is the foundation for a healthy and developed India.
  • Underlining the theme of this year's Nutrition Month, people to reduce sugar, salt, and oil intake and adopt balanced diets and regular exercise to prevent lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.
