Thailand PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra Suspended
Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was suspended by the country's Constitutional Court, as it opened a probe into her conduct in a diplomatic spat with Cambodia.
The Constitutional Court with a majority of 7-2 suspended the respondent from Prime Ministerial duty from July 1 until the Constitutional Court has made its ruling. This happened after a group of conservative senators lodged a case accusing Paetongtarn of breaching ministerial ethics during a border row with Cambodia.
Kerala Tops National Evaluation of Protected Areas for 2020-2025
Kerala was ranked the top-performing state in the Management Effectiveness Evaluation (MEE) of National Parks and Protected Areas (PAs) for the cycle 2020–2025, conducted by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. With a score of 76.22%, Kerala is the only state to receive a "Very Good" rating. Its Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, scored the highest among individual protected areas, reflecting Kerala's outstanding conservation practices.
Jindal Steel Commissions First Continuous Galvanising Line in Odisha
Naveen Jindal-controlled Jindal Steel commissioned its first continuous galvanising line at Angul integrated steel complex in Odisha. This is part of a Rs. 3,400 crore investment in a cold rolling mill (CRM) complex.
The new line will produce galvanised and galvalume products under the Jindal Panther Galvanised and Zinkalume brands, catering to various industries, including appliances, automotive, infrastructure, and construction.
SatSure & Dhruva Space to Offer End-to-End Earth Observation Solutions
Bengaluru-based earth observation (EO) start-up SatSure signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyderabad-headquartered Dhruva Space to jointly offer earth observation-as-a-service (EOaaS) solutions. The two will indigenously develop space-based solutions catering to commercial stakeholders.
The partnership will integrate SatSure's downstream capabilities through its subsidiary KaleidEO, which builds EO payloads and analytics platforms. Dhruva will provide upstream expertise in small satellite platforms, launch integration, and ground station infrastructure.

Aiming to clean up India's chaotic address system, IIT Hyderabad, India Post, and ISRO's National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) teamed up to launch DIGIPIN -- a new digital address system designed to simplify how locations are identified across the country, from city apartments to remote villages and even offshore sites.
Unlike traditional codes that only point to a general area, DIGIPIN gives a precise digital address that can be accessed using a smartphone with GPS and a high-resolution map app. It works offline, doesn't collect personal data, and is built to handle everything from home deliveries to emergency services and government schemes.

India began its campaign at the World Boxing Cup Kazakhstan 2025 on a promising note with Hitesh Gulia and Sachin Siwach with dominant, unanimous wins in their opening preliminary bouts at the Beeline Arena.
Hitesh, a gold medallist from the Brazil leg, outclassed Olympian Kan Chia-Wei of Chinese Taipei 5:0 in the light middleweight division. Sachin, a bronze winner in Brazil, was equally convincing in his 5:0 win over Canada's Al-Ahmadieh Keoma-Ali in the lightweight category at the Beeline Arena.

Held aboard the MV Empress at Chennai Port, the dialogue brought together over 30 delegates from all ten ASEAN countries, along with Timor Leste, to explore ways to enhance cruise connectivity, promote sustainable tourism, and strengthen cultural and economic ties across the Indo-Pacific region.
Centre launches BhashaSetu Challenge to Develop Real-Time Language Tech
The centre launched the WAVEX Start-up Challenge 2025, inviting start-ups from across the country to develop an AI-based real-time multilingual translation solution under its flagship accelerator programme, WaveX.
The challenge, titled 'BhashaSetu – Real-Time Language Tech for Bharat', seeks to encourage the creation of innovative tools that can handle translation, transliteration, and voice localisation in real time across at least 12 major Indian languages. Officials said the initiative aims to foster inclusive and accessible communication technologies that are sensitive to India's linguistic diversity.
There is no minimum eligibility criterion for participation, allowing startups at any stage of development to apply.
The winning team will receive incubation support under the WaveX Accelerator, which will include mentorship, workspace, and development assistance until the solution is fully developed and deployed.
Navy Commissions Stealth Frigate 'Tamal' in Russia
Indian Navy's Russian-manufactured guided missile frigate INS Tamal that carries an array of missiles and surveillance systems was commissioned into the force at Russia's coastal city of Kaliningrad.
The ship has 26 per cent indigenous components, including the BrahMos long-range cruise missile for targeting both at sea and land.
Tamal will join the 'Sword Arm' of the Indian Navy, the Western Fleet.
First-ever Quad-at-Sea Mission Launched
The coast guards of India, Japan, the US and Australia launched the first-ever "Quad-at-sea" mission to boost operational coordination and interoperability in the Indo-Pacific.
The decision to launch the mission was taken at the four-nation's grouping annual summit in Wilmington in September last year (2024) that was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Quad leaders.

Designed to be a comprehensive, all-in-one platform, the RailOne app aims to streamline and simplify access to a range of railway passenger services through a user-friendly interface.
The RailOne app integrates key services such as booking unreserved and platform tickets with a 3% discount, live train tracking, grievance redressal, e-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services. While reserved ticket bookings will continue through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation platform, RailOne is authorised by IRCTC and joins a list of partner apps offering railway services.
