India's First Butterfly Sanctuary Inaugurated in Kerala's Aralam Forest
Kerala became home to India's first butterfly sanctuary. The Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary in Kannur district was officially renamed the Aralam Butterfly Sanctuary, marking a first-of-its-kind move in the country. Spanning 55 sq. km in the lush Western Ghats, the sanctuary now serves as a dedicated refuge for over 266 butterfly species, including several rare and endangered ones.
Key objectives and aim are:
To provide a protected habitat for butterflies and safeguard their migration corridors
To boost awareness about butterfly conservation
To promote eco-tourism and research, benefiting both local communities and scientists

Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) and Reliance BP Mobility Ltd (Jio-bp), two leading private energy firms, entered into a strategic partnership to dispense each other's fuels at select outlets across India. Former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) S. Somanath took the role of Honorary Chief Technical Advisor at Skyroot Aerospace, country's leading private rocket developer. In his new capacity, Somanath will advise Skyroot as the city-based start-up prepares for the launch of its Vikram-1 launch vehicle, India's first privately developed launch vehicle capable of deploying satellites in Earth's orbit.
The 23-meter-tall rocket is also India's first carbon-composite space launch vehicle and features a liquid-engine powered Orbital Adjustment Module that can precisely maneuver in the vacuum for last-mile delivery of satellites.
Cricket Ireland Confirms Departure of Warren Deutrom
Cricket Ireland announced the departure of Chief Executive Officer, Warren Deutrom, from his position. He will step down from his role at the end of August after almost 19 years at the helm of Irish cricket's national governing body.
