G7 Foreign Ministers Meet in Canada amid Tensions with Trump
Foreign Ministers of the G7 nations met in Canada after seven weeks of rising tensions between U.S. allies and President Donald Trump over his upending of foreign policy on Ukraine and imposing of tariffs.
The Group of Seven ministers from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, along with the EU, met in the remote tourist town of La Malbaie, nestled in the Quebec hills for two days of meetings that in the past have broadly been consensual on the issues they face.
The 27th ASEAN-India Senior Officials' Meeting in Manila
The 27th ASEAN-India Senior Officials' Meeting (AISOM) took place in Manila, Philippines co-chaired by Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East), Government of India, and H.E. MA. Theresa P. Lazaro, Philippine SOM Leader from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Philippines currently serves as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations. Senior officials from all ASEAN Member States, Timor Leste as an Observer, and the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN were in attendance.
The meeting reviewed the progress on key decisions from recent ASEAN-India Summits and the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers' Meeting (PMC+1), focusing on the three main pillars of ASEAN-India engagement: political-security, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation. Officials praised the successful implementation of the 10-Point Proposal presented by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 21st ASEAN-India Summit in Lao PDR in 2024. Notably, one of the key initiatives was the proposal to designate 2025 as the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism.

Australia and England to Play Historic 150th Anniversary Test at MCG
Test cricket is set to witness a monumental milestone as Australia and England lock horns in a special one-off day-night Test match to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first-ever Test match. Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed that the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host this landmark pink-ball Test from March 11 to March 15, 2027.
This encounter will mark the first-ever pink-ball Test played by the Australian men's team at the MCG. Earlier in 2024, Australia's women's team made history by playing the first-ever day-night Test at the venue against England during the Women's Ashes.
Khelo India Winter Games 2025: Check Full Medal Tally
The Khelo India Winter Games 2025 (KIWG 2025), the fifth edition of India's premier winter sports event under the Khelo India initiative, was successfully conducted in two phases. The second phase of the event concluded in Jammu & Kashmir on March 12, 2025. The Indian Army emerged as the overall champion of KIWG 2025 by securing the most gold medals.

Department of Posts Signs MoU with FSID, IISC, for Documentation of Technology Architecture for Digital Address DPI
Department of Posts undertook an initiative namely "Digital Address Code" aimed at establishing a digital public infrastructure for a standardised, geo-coded addressing system in India ensuring simplified addressing solutions for citizen-centric delivery of public and private services to establish ―Address as a Service‖ (AaaS) in India.
As a part of this initiative, the Department of Posts (DoP), under the Ministry of Communications, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, for designing and documenting the technology architecture for the Digital Address Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).
This strategic collaboration aims to lay foundational technological principles and design for establishment of digital address DPI which is envisioned as a standardised, georeferenced and interoperable addressing system that will revolutionize the ways in which address data is created, shared and consumed in the country. It will serve as a foundational public infrastructure that integrates with government, business, and citizen services to streamline service delivery, emergency response, financial inclusion, and urban planning.
CCRAS Workshop Train Scholars to Unlock Ayurvedic Manuscripts
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, in collaboration with the National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM), Ministry of Culture, is organising a "Transliteration Capacity Building Workshop on Ayurvedic Manuscripts" from March 13 to 24, 2025, at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Bhubaneswar.
The workshop aims to train young Ayurveda researchers and Sanskrit scholars in studying, transliterating, and publishing Ayurvedic manuscripts, unlocking their vast potential for contemporary research. Odisha, with its rich manuscript heritage, presents a significant opportunity, and this workshop will help build a skilled human resource pool to preserve and promote Ayurvedic knowledge. 30 scholars from Odisha will participate under the guidance of over 10 eminent experts.

Ministry Of Education Launches PM Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors
The Ministry of Education launched the third edition of the Prime Minister's Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors (PM-YUVA 3.0). The initiative aims to train young authors under the age of 30 to promote reading, writing, and book culture in India. The program provides mentorship and publishing opportunities to enhance Indian literature on a global platform.
PM-YUVA 3.0 builds on the participation of young authors in 22 Indian languages and English in its previous editions.
The National Book Trust, India, will oversee the implementation of PM-YUVA 3.0.
Six New Properties Added to India's UNESCO Tentative List
Six new sites from India were added to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a step toward gaining full World Heritage status. The announcement was made by the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO and later shared by India at UNESCO on the microblogging platform X.
Among the newly listed sites are Kanger Valley National Park in Chhattisgarh, Mudumal Megalithic Menhirs in Telangana, and a series of historically significant locations, including the Ashokan Edict Sites along the Mauryan Routes and the Chausath Yogini Temples, which are spread across multiple states. The list also includes the Gupta Temples of North India and the palace fortresses of the Bundelas in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
