Japanese Automaker Nissan's Chief Executive Steps Down
Japanese automaker Nissan's chief executive, Makoto Uchida, is stepping down after the company reported dismal financial results and its merger talks with Honda collapsed.
Nissan Motor Corp. said that Ivan Espinosa, who is now the company's chief planning officer, will take Uchida's place, effective April 1.
RBI Grants One-Year Extension to IndusInd Bank CEO Sumant Kathpalia
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted only a one-year extension to Sumant Kathpalia, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), IndusInd Bank.
This is despite the bank's Board requesting a three-year reappointment.
This marks the second consecutive time that the RBI has approved a shorter tenure instead of a full three-year term for Kathpalia.

NASA launched four small satellites that make up the agency's PUNCH (Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere) mission, to study how the Sun's outer atmosphere becomes the solar wind.
NASA's PUNCH will make global, 3D observations of the inner solar system and the Sun's outer atmosphere, the corona, to learn how its mass and energy become the solar wind, a stream of charged particles blowing outward from the Sun in all directions. The mission will explore the formation and evolution of space weather events such as coronal mass ejections, which can create storms of energetic particle radiation that can endanger spacecraft and astronauts.
Shubman Gill Wins ICC Men's Player of the Month Award for February
India's Shubman Gill was announced as the winner of ICC's Men's Player of the month award for February after his performances in the recently concluded Champions Trophy as well as the ODI series against England. In the month of February, Gill played 5 ODIs and scored 406 runs, averaging 101.50 at a strike rate of 94.19.
Gill, who won the award after beating Australia's Steve Smith and New Zealand's Glenn Phillips, scored over fifty runs in all three ODIs in the England series where he slammed 87 in Nagpur, 60 in Cuttack and then 112 in Ahmedabad.

Bangladesh's Mahmudullah Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad announced his retirement from international cricket. He had already retired from Tests in 2021 and then ended his T20I career in October 2024. His last tournament for Bangladesh was the Champions Trophy 2025 where the Bangladesh was eliminated from the group stage.
The player has scored 5689 runs from 239 matches in ODIs and has 4 centuries and 32 fifties. With the ball, he has notched up 82 wickets in the format. He is also the fourth-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs, behind Tamim Iqbal (8357), Mushfiqur Rahim (7795), and Shakib Al Hasan (7570).

The Congress slumped to a second successive election defeat in Haryana after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party won polls for 9 of 10 mayoral positions, including in Gurugram and Rohtak, the stronghold of Bhupinder Hooda, one of the opposition party's senior-most state leaders.
The BJP won in Ambala, Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat, Hisar, Rohtak, Faridabad, Gurugram and Yamunanagar. Its only setback came in Manesar where party rebel Inderjeet Yadav defeated BJP nominee Sunder Lal.

The Bureau of Water Use Efficiency (BWUE) under the National Water Mission (NWM), Ministry of Jal Shakti, in association with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), organised a one-day conference titled 'Water Sustainability Conference 2025', with a focus on Industrial Water Use Efficiency. The conference was held on March 12, 2025 at the NDMC Convention Centre, Palika Kendra, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.

Former India cricketer Syed Abid Ali passed away in the United States at the age of 83.
He was renowned for hitting the winning runs in the famous 1971 Oval Test. Abid Ali represented in 29 Tests and five ODIs from 1967 to 1975. Labelled as a 'lion-hearted cricketer' by Sunil Gavaskar he was a bowling all-rounder, who took 47 Test wickets but played a crucial role in the middle-order with the bat, whether in first-class cricket or in the handful of the ODIs he played.

Harvard University, renowned for its academic excellence, bagged the top spot in as many as four areas of study in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 released on March 12, 2025.
The 2025 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas. Besides, a total of 171 institutions were included this year.
In Arts & Humanities the top five universities were Harvard University (Rank 1), University of Oxford (Rank 2), University of Cambridge (Rank 3), Stanford University (Rank 4), and University of California, Berkeley (UCB) (Rank 5).
In Engineering and Technology the top 5 universities were Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Rank 1), University of Oxford (Rank 2), Stanford University (Rank 3), University of Cambridge (Rank 4), and ETH Zurich (Rank 5).
Harvard University also bagged the first rank in Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management.
