International Buddhist Confederation Unveils Tri-services Trek
The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) is set to launch the Lord Buddha Trination Triservices Expedition, a historic initiative uniting the armed forces of India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This unique motorcycle expedition will commence from Lumbini, Nepal (the birthplace of Lord Buddha) and conclude in Galle, Sri Lanka, covering key Buddhist heritage sites along the route.
The expedition aims to celebrate the shared cultural and spiritual heritage of the three nations while promoting peace, harmony, tourism, and environmental awareness. Organised in collaboration with IBC, this journey will reinforce the historical spread of Buddhism and the deep-rooted ties between these countries.
The expedition will be formally flagged off on February 19, 2025, by former President Ram Nath Kovind from Bodhgaya.
Upon reaching Sri Lanka, the expedition will be ceremonially flagged off by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ms. Harini Amarasuriya in Jaffna on March 5, 2025 marking the culmination of a momentous journey across three nations bound by the Buddha's teachings.

Himachal Pradesh initiated North India's first Green Hydrogen Plant at Dabhota in Nalagarh, situated in the state's industrial belt of Baddi-Brotiwala and Nalagarh near Chandigarh. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for the 1 MW plant, which aligns with the state's goal of becoming India's first green state by March 31, 2026. The Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL), in collaboration with Oil India Limited, will develop this project at a cost of Rs. 9.04 crore. The plant is expected to be operational within a year and will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by utilising renewable energy sources for hydrogen production.
RBI Introduces Extra Security for International Online Payments with AFA
In a move aimed at enhancing the safety of online payments, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced plans to introduce Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) for cross-border "Card Not Present" (CNP) transactions. The Indian Art History Congress is an all-India body of the study of the Indian Art Heritage, its headquarters being situated in Guwahati. This year (2025), the 32nd Session of the Indian Art History Congress was hosted by the Indian Institute of Heritage, Noida, deemed to be university, under the Ministry of Culture from February 8 to 10 2025. The conference was held on the theme "Rendering of Indian Epics in Art and Culture," which aimed to highlight the diverse forms of artistic expressions based on the epics. A variety of oral, textual and visual mediums became a conduit through which these narratives were transmitted. In this context, the conference aimed to be a platform that brings together conversations on the various forms of artistic and performative representations of the epics. It highlighted the multiplicity and plurality of the epics in terms of its diverse artistic manifestations tracing their influence as well as their representation from ancient to contemporary times.

Dynauton Systems, a division of Dynamatic Technologies Limited, unveiled 'Kaatil,' India's first jet-based loitering munition, at Aero India 2025. Kaatil, which translates to 'killer' in Hindi, is a domestically designed and developed loitering munition. It showcases India's growing capabilities in indigenous defence technology.
Kaatil differs from traditional loitering munitions because it is equipped with landing gear, which allows it to take off like a conventional UAV, enabling reuse in certain conditions.

Nujoma led the long fight for independence from South Africa in 1990 after helping found Namibia's liberation movement known as the South West Africa People's Organisation (Swapo) in the 1960s.
