China, Bhutan Set up Panel to Speed up Boundary Talks
China and Bhutan have set up a Joint Technical Team (JTG) on the Delimitation of China-Bhutan Boundary as part of Beijing's efforts to speed up the resolution of the boundary issue.
The decision to set up the JTG was taken at a meeting of the Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on China-Bhutan Boundary Issues held in Beijing. The meeting of the JTG was held on the concluding day of the 13th EGM itself.

'She Leads Bharat: Udyam' is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together the private sector, social enterprise, and philanthropy in the banking, financial services, and insurance sector to demonstrate a digital-first model designed to unlock ways for women-owned small businesses to increase their incomes.
This initiative will be funded by the Mastercard Impact Fund, while Mastercard will bring the catalytic capital and global expertise of its Center for Inclusive Growth to unlock tools, resources, and networks for the women-owned small businesses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi named the landing site of Chandrayaan-3's moon lander 'Shiv shakti Point.'
This significant declaration was made during the Prime Minister's visit to the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru. The naming of this lunar landing site holds not only scientific but also spiritual and inspirational significance.
The name 'Shiv Shakti Point' represents a harmonious amalgamation of spirituality and scientific prowess. Just as the convergence of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti signifies the cosmic balance in Hindu mythology, the naming of the lunar landing site as Shiv Shakti Point embodies the unity of human endeavour and the awe-inspiring wonders of the cosmos.
The Prime Minister stated that the naming of the lunar landing site as Shiv shakti Point is intended to inspire upcoming generations to channel the power of science for the betterment of humanity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced that the crash-landed site of Chandrayaan-2 on the lunar surface, where the Indian tricolor was imprinted, would be known as 'Tiranga Point.' The H2-A, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's most reliable heavy payload rocket, was originally set to launch carrying an advanced imaging satellite and a lightweight lander slated to reach the moon as early as January.

Amit Shah Chairs Western Zonal Council in Gandhinagar
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 26th meeting of the Western Zonal Council in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The meeting was attended by the Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa, along with the Administrator of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Secretaries, Advisors, and other senior officers of the state governments and union territories, the Union Home Secretary, Secretary Inter-State Council, and other senior officers of the central government.
The Western Zonal Council is one of the six zonal councils in India. It was established in 1956 to promote cooperation and coordination between the states and union territories in the Western region. The Council discusses and resolves issues related to interstate matters, such as water resources, border disputes, and crime.

Indian Air Force Participates in Multilateral Tri-service Exercise in Egypt
In a significant move towards fostering global defence cooperation, an Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent is participating in Exercise Bright Star-23.
The IAF contingent is taking part in the biennial multilateral tri-service exercise at Cairo, Egypt (West) Air Base, which will culminate on September 16.
This marks the first participation of the IAF in Ex Bright Star-23, which also see the participation of air force contingents from the US, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Qatar.
4-day India-Australia Naval Exercise Concludes
The fifth edition of biennial AUSINDEX maritime exercise between Indian Navy and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has ended at Sydney.
INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata participated in the exercise along with HMAS Choules and HMAS Brisbane from RAN. Besides ships and their integral helicopters, the exercise also witnessed participation of fighter aircraft and maritime patrol aircraft.
Held over four days, AUSINDEX included a series of complex exercises in all three domains of maritime operations.
Veteran Hindi film lyricist Dev Kohli died at the age of 80. Dev Kohli was famed for his songs in over 100 films including Maine Pyaar Kiya, Baazigar, Judwaa 2, Musafir, Shoot Out At Lokhandwala and Taxi No. 9 2 11. He has collaborated with music directors like Anu Malik, Raam Laxman, Anand Raaj Anand, Anand Milind among others.
Born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan into a Sikh family, Kohli relocated to Dehradun following Partition.
Arriving in Mumbai in 1964 Kohli began looking for film work. With the release of the movie Gunda in 1969, he debuted in the Bollywood industry. His first big break came with the song Geet Gaata Hoon Main from the 1971 movie Laal Patthar.
He wrote lyrics for several hit songs like Aate Jaate Hanste Gaate, Kabootar Ja Ja Ja, Aaja Shaam Hone Aayee, Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
He and Anu Malik formed a spectacular partnership in the 1990s, working together.
Legendary Poet Jayanta Mahapatra Passes Away
Eminent poet Jayanta Mahapatra passed away. He was 95.
Born in Cuttack on October 22, 1928, Mahapatra was the first Indian poet to win a Sahitya Akademi award for English poetry. He was also conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2009. However, he returned it in 2015 to protest against rising intolerance in India.
The author of 'Indian Summer' and 'Hunger', considered classics in modern Indian English literature, Mahapatra penned 27 books of poems, of which seven are in Odia language and the rest in English.

The Property Cards facilitate monetization of rural residential assets for bank loan and other financial benefits and help in the settlement of land-related disputes through the preparation of 5cm accuracy maps. The Scheme is implemented with the collaborative efforts of Survey of India being the technology implementation partner, State Revenue and Panchayati Raj Departments, and NIC–GIS.

The two volumes have been compiled by the Publications Division of the I&B Ministry from the speeches and addresses given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from June 2020 to May 2021 and June 2021 to May 2022.
K. Parameshwar Appointed Additional Advocate General to Represent Uttar Pradesh in Supreme Court
Advocate K. Parameshwar was appointed as Additional Advocate General (AAG) to represent the Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) in cases before the Supreme Court of India.
Parameshwar graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2007. He has been practicing in the Supreme Court for 16 years.
Notably, he has served as amicus curiae in numerous cases before the apex court.
