Trump-Kim Meet in Sentosa

As per reports from the White House, the much-vaunted summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un will take place on Singapore's resort island of Sentosa.

Sentosa is home to palm-fringed beaches, casinos, tourist sites and some of the best golf courses in Asia. It also houses the luxurious Capella Hotel, which �" at a distance from centres of population �" can be more easily secured.

Facebook Confirms Data Sharing

Facebook Inc said that it has data sharing partnerships with at least four Chinese companies including Huawei, the world`s third largest smartphone maker, which has come under scrutiny from US intelligence agencies on security concerns.

The social media company said Huawei, computer maker Lenovo Group, and smartphone makers OPPO and TCL Corp were among about 60 companies worldwide that received access to some user data after they signed contracts to re-create Facebook-like experiences for their users.

Mcleod inks pact with M. K. Shah Exports

Mcleod Russel India Ltd., a BM Khaitan Group company, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for selling eight Assam gardens to M.K. Shah Exports for Rs. 331 crore.

These gardens together contributed 12.3 % of MRIL's total turnover with a contribution of about Rs. 192.8 crore.

Services Business Activity Index for May

According to a monthly survey, India's services sector activity contracted for the first time in three months in May as new business orders stagnated and cost pressures intensified amid higher fuel prices.

The seasonally adjusted Nikkei India Services Business Activity Index fell to 49.6 in May from 51.4 in April.

Announced at the ongoing WWDC 2018 developer conference, WapleStuff won the award for its calculator app called Calzy.

Marco Cecchinato beat former champion and 12-times major winner Novak Djokovic at the French Open to become the first Italian man to reach a Grand Slam semi-final in 40 years.

The last Italian man to take part in a major semi-final was Corrado Barazzutti at the 1978 French Open.

Mughalsarai Station Renamed

The over century-old Mughalsarai railway station has been renamed after RSS ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, with Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik giving his assent.

A proposal to change the name of the railway station from Mughalsarai junction to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction was put forth by the Uttar Pradesh government in 2017.
The station has now been named after the Jan Sangh leader as he was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the junction on February 11, 1968.

Kishanganga Dam Dispute

The World Bank has asked Pakistan to accept an offer by India to appoint a neutral expert over the dispute over Kishanganga Dam, which was inaugurated recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Pakistan-based Dawn News, the World Bank has asked Pakistan to climb down from the demand of taking up the issue with the International Court of Arbitration (ICA).
