North Korea's Nuclear Test Site has Partially Collapsed
As per reports, North Korea's underground nuclear test site has partially collapsed following a massive bomb blast in 2017, making it unusable.
North Korea conducted five of its six nuclear tests at the site, with the biggest blast last September 3 triggering a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that was felt across the northern border with China.
Two studies involving Chinese experts have found that a 4.1-magnitude aftershock that took place 8.5 minutes after the first quake caused the collapse of rock inside the mountain.
The Manipal-TPG combine has submitted a revised, unsolicited binding offer for Fortis Hospitals Ltd. that includes a fresh proposal for buying the hospital business and diagnostic arm.
The move comes a day before an expert committee is expected to review binding offers for Fortis and make appropriate recommendations to the Fortis board.
The combine has now also offered to buy up to 5% of the paid-up capital of SRL from Fortis at the same price it would pay private equity investors in SRL.
Merger of Tower Arm Bharti InfratelĀ Approved
Bharti Airtel has approved the merger of its listed tower arm Bharti Infratel with the privately-held Indus Towers, making the combine the world's largest telecom tower company outside of China, with more than 1.63 lakh towers.
The combined company's name would remain Indus Towers Limited.
Vodafone India and Bharti Infratel hold 42% each in Indus Towers while Idea Cellular owns 11.15% stake in the company and the balance is owned by U.S.-based private equity firm Providence.

Indu Malhotra Set to be Supreme Court Judge
As per reports from the Law Ministry, the government is learnt to have cleared the appointment of senior advocate Indu Malhotra as a judge of the Supreme Court.
She will be the first woman judge to be appointed to the top post directly from the bar.
With this development, the elevation of Justice K. M. Joseph, who heads the Uttarakhand High Court has been put on hold.
UGC Releases List of Fake Universities
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a list of 24 fake universities across India. The Commission has said that these 24 self-styled, unrecognised institutions functioning in contravention of the UGC Act have been declared as fake and are not entitled to confer any degrees.
