Mining mogul Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Resources plc announced the appointment of Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan as the new chief executive of the company, replacing interim CEO Kuldip Kaura.
Venkatakrishnan is currently the CEO of Johannesburg-based AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, the world's largest emerging market gold producer.
Venkatakrishnan will assume the new role from 1st August.
WPI inflation Eases
Inflation based on wholesale prices slipped marginally to 2.47% in March on falling prices of food items, especially vegetables and pulses.
According to government data, food articles witnessed deflation after about eight months as vegetables, cereals, pulses, eggs, meat and fish, turned cheaper. Wholesale prices of food articles fell 0.29% in March compared with a 0.88% rise in the previous month.
Tech Start-up Witworks Acquired by Myntra
Online fashion retailer Myntra has acquired tech start-up Witworks for an undisclosed amount.
This acquisition will enable Myntra to develop and launch cutting-edge wearable products like smart shoes, connected smart watches and interactive and intelligent clothing with bio-sensors.

A special NIA court had acquitted all the 10 accused including Swami Aseemanand in the Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blast case citing a lack of evidence. The verdict was announced by Judge Ravindra Reddy.
