SpaceX blasted off a secretive US government payload known as Zuma, a mission whose nature and the agency behind it remains a mystery. The launch was initially supposed to take place in November but was postponed so the California-based company could take a closer look at potential problems with the fairing, or the nose cone part of the rocket that protects the payload. SpaceX has launched national security payloads in the past, including a spy satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office, and an X-37B space plane for the US Air Force. SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk’s goal is to perfect the technique so that rockets can one day become just as reusable as airplanes, thereby lowering the cost of space travel.
It is not often that India put themselves in a position to win a Test match on a spicy pitch at a venue such as Cape Town, but that is precisely what they did. In cricket, bowlers are always viewed as second-hand citizens, batsmen hogging the limelight and taking all the glory, and India’s leather flingers certainly have good reason to feel that they had done their job, only for the batsmen to crumble when it mattered the most. In the end, High-flying Indian team suffered a hard landing in Cape Town, lost their first Test by 72 runs in less than 3 days.
