Preet Didbal has been elected as the mayor of Yuba city in California, becoming the first sikh woman to hold the position in the US. Dibal was appointed by the California city council, and will be sworn in on December 5. Didbal was elected to Yuba City Council in 2014 and is currently Vice Mayor.
Raj Shah Becomes First- Indian American Gaggle on Air Force One
Raj Shah, who holds a key position in the White House, gaggled with reporters on board Air Force One, becoming the first Indian-American to enjoy the privilege.
Gaggle is the term used for informal briefing by the White House Press Secretary, which is on the record but bars reporters from videographing.
Shah, 33, did so in the capacity of principal deputy press secretary, a position to which he was promoted by US President Donald Trump in September.
India’s economy grew by 6.3% in July-September substantially higher than 5.7% in the first quarter. After a three-year low of 5.7% in the first quarter, the GDP growth at 6.3% comes on the sharp jump in manufacturing activity, which increased from 1.2% in the first quarter to 7% in the second.
Indo-Spanish Technical Cooperation Agreement Signed
An Indo- Spanish technical cooperation agreement was signed between the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Administrador de Infraestructuras Feroviarias (ADIF), Spain. The state-owned Spanish railway infrastructure company would provide institutional mechanism for mutual cooperation in the field of urban transport and implementation of Regional Rapid Transit System project.

Mirabai Chanu Brings First Gold Medal for India in World Championship

The Indian Women Archers (compound) beat South Korea 230- 227 in the final of the Asian Archery Championship in Dhaka. The trio of V. Jyothi Surekha, Trisha Deb and Parveena turned the tables on the Koreans .
Meanwhile, the Indian compound and recurve teams (men) settled for the silver medal after losing their respective finals to the Koreans. India finished second behind Korea, bagging 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
