World's most Liveable Cities
According to a survey carried out by the Economist, the world’s top 10 most liveable cities are Melbourne, Vienna, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland, Helsinki and Hamburg.
The study examined the socioeconomic conditions of 230 global cities, such as health care, education, stability, culture, environment, and infrastructure.
State Bank of India accounts for over 27% of the total amount owed to public sector banks by wilful defaulters. As many as 1,762 wilful defaulters owed Rs. 25,104 crore to SBI as on March 31.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) is next on the list with 1,120 wilful defaulters having outstanding non-performing assets of Rs. 12,278 crore.
Together these two banks account for Rs. 37,382 crore or 40% of the total outstanding loans.
According to the Finance Ministry data, total outstanding loans due to PSU banks by wilful defaulters amounted to Rs. 92,376 crore.
Infosys Approves Share Buyback
The Infosys board approved a share buyback of up to Rs. 13,000 crore.
The proposal entails purchase of up to 11.3 crore equity shares.
In a share buyback, a company buys its own shares from the market, usually because the management thinks the shares are undervalued, reducing the number of outstanding shares.

The Defence Ministry has delegated administrative and financial powers to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to avoid delays in projects of road construction in the border areas.
The powers have been entrusted to the officials up to the level of Chief Engineer and Task Force Commander to improve the pace of execution of works and to achieve the desired outcomes according to the requirement of the armed forces.
As per the Ministry's revised order, a Chief Engineer of the BRO now can accord administrative approval up to Rs. 50 crore, the Additional Director General, Border Roads up to Rs. 75 crore and the DGBR up to Rs. 100 crore for both departmental and contractual mode of execution.
Upgrading T-90 Battle Tanks
As part of efforts to enhance its strike capability, the Army is now working on a project to add more teeth to its T-90 main battle tanks by arming them with a third generation missile system.
Currently, the T-90 tanks are equipped with a laser guided INVAR missile system and the Army has decided to replace them with a third generation gun-launched missile.
The Russian-origin T-90 tanks are mainstays of the Indian Army's offensive formations.
