Wilbur L. Ross US Commerce Secretary

  • The US Senate confirmed Wilbur L. Ross as Commerce secretary, installing a key leader for the Trump administration's plans to overhaul trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
  • By a vote of 72 to 27 on Monday, the Senate confirmed Ross, who has already been advising President Trump on economic policy and helping him to craft ways to rewrite the tax code.

Subrata Roy’s Parole Extended

  • The Supreme Court extended the parole of Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy till mid April.
  • The apex court also directed Sahara Group to deposit Rs. 5092.6 crore by April 7 to keep its chief Subrata Roy out of jail and this amount will be refunded to the investors.
  • Subrata Roy was sent to Tihar jail in March 2014.

India's First Integrated Heliport

  • Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the country's first integrated heliport in North Delhi.
  • India's first heliport has been built by state-owned Pawan Hans.
  • The heliport consists of a terminal building having a capacity of 150 passengers, four hangars with the parking capacity of 16 helicopters and nine parking bays.
